Poured from a corked and caged 750ml bottle. Best by date is 11/15/2012. I guess shes still a baby. Firm pour yields a massive off white head. Great lace, and head retention. Color is dark amber. This is my first experience with a Biere De Garde.
Nose- Hrmm not much going on, I get slight yeasti-ness. Some faint raisin, faint lemon and dough. Faint malt sweetness, some pepper.
Palate- Elements of a quad. Although much lighter. Some raisins, and dates. Loads of bitterness. Slight lemon zest. Large malt body, caramel and toffee. Some sweetness. Peppery. Elements of a saison and a dubbel. Mildly cloying. Very interesting. Alcohol is well hidden.
Mouthfeel- Creamy, cloying, chewy and oily.
Drinkability- Moderate

Pour is golden amber with a red ruby tint and a light tan tight head. Nose has a chewy sticky caramel malt front with a deep green apple skin behind and faint farmhouse spice to it. Taste is balanced, on the sweet side but not sugary, well attenuated. Sticky malt, caramel light, apple skin, sweet finish, light hop presence through the finish. Body is light, carbonation is very gentle, semi dry finish. Solid stuff and very drinkable.

on tap at perch pub in philly
Pours a slightly hazed caramel auburn color with some reddish hues. Thin crop of beige head dissolves completely, leaving little lacing or retention.
Some faint Belgian yeast in the nose with hints of dark fruit. Apples come through with a dash of cherry and some bready sweetness. Little alcohol warmth.
A little spicy and yeasty up front with some Belgian notes. Dark fruit creeps through but doesnt become too sweet, lingering with a few hints of cherry. Apples give way to bready and caramel sweetness in the backbone. Finishes with another touch of apple and very soft warmth.
Medium body, slightly higher carbonation, sticky and bubbly on the tongue. This is pretty decent, but I've had better from Southampton before.
