Enjoyed at the brewery. Reviewed from notes.
A small froth of head dissipates in roughly one minute. Aromas are toasty malt and grains, along with some grassiness from the hops. Flavors follow the aroma's suit. Sweeter than I would have expected from the nose, though. Body is medium body and fitting carbonation. This might have been from the malt, but the residuals were almost syrupy on the palate. This is a pretty straightforward Octoberfest ... I'd have another.

On tap at the KSBF '08.
Poured a medium to deeper amberish color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of bread, toasted grains, and some caramel. Tastes of the same toastiness, grains, and caramel. Definitely on the sweeter side.

Poured a medium amber hue with a wispy thin bubbly head.
The smell featured a solid and robust raw grain with a touch of aromatic noble hop.
The taste was also robust and grainy with an excellent biscuity malt and flavorful noble hop. Really a very authentic and not overly caramel sweet Oktoberfest.
The mouthfeel was full and very dry.
Overall an excellent and seemingly authentic to the style Oktoberfest. Very drinkable and highly recommended.

Pours a nice golden amber color with a slight white head. Not much lacing, not much carbonation. The aroma and taste is sweet, hints of caramel, toffee--just a general 'candy' taste. Very nice. Mouthfeel is very smooth, with a sweet finish. This would be a great session beer and was probably my favorite of the three I had (Belgian Amber & Secret Ale being the others).

I purchased a growler of the Southampton Octoberfest at Shoreline Beverage in Huntington, NY on a whim as the store has 5 or 6 taps going at any given time.
By pouring the growler straight into a pint glass to check the head of the ale, I noticed how it danced with a flowing skirt in the pint glass. The multitude of little bubbles reminded me of Champagne until I tasted it for the first time.
After the first taste, I was spellbound by the great smooth taste that brought up hints of bitters, nuts, fruits, and of course, great lagers of days past. The taste seemed to linger for hours as 1 became my limit quickly so I could enjoy this work of art, one pint at a time.

Pours a beautiful pinkish/peach color, crystal clear, with a just off-white head of foam. The carbonation seems light, and there was decent enough lacing on the glass.
The aroma is very clean light caramel or Munich malt, is that a hint of smoke?, very gentle spicy hops in the back; very clean and fresh.
The first flavor is toasted or very lightly smoked malt, on the sweet side, with a just there hop bitterness for balance. Next you can taste floral/spicy hops; this is a very well made O'fest. Aftertaste is clean and malty.
Mouthfeel is incredibly smooth, medium bodied, with a delicate zing from carbonation. Finish is long and semi-sweet.
I easily drank a whole growler of this in one sitting, and could have done another. (Well, maybe). This is truly good, and the toasted or smokey flavor is intriguing. If you're in the area, you have to look this up.

On-Tap at the brewpub! Dark red/amber with a nice white head that lasted quite a while and provided my SPH pint glass with some nice lacing as well. The aromas are pretty straight forward. Sweet malts and lightly floral hops dance together in perfect harmony ;-) The taste is malty and sweet up front with the hops kissing your palate mid-stream before the brew gets slightly dry and bread-like in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and right for the style and the drinkability is good as well. OK, not the best O-Fest out there but it is a bit better than my locals (BBW) version.
