This English Stout is medium-bodied, black in color with a roasted malt aroma and flavor, but a silky smooth character. The oatmeal in this recipe and the nitrogen pour give this beer a round creamy mouthfeel.

Very thin tan head on a jet black body. Aroma Consists of Roasted malts, wood notes and earthy hops. Flavor is mosty roasted malts with notes of oats, milk chocolate and maybe a hint of banana. Medium to full body and moderate carbonation. Not a very exciting stouts. Needs to have more complexity and stronger flavors to be memorable but as oatmeal stouts go it is pretty good.

Had at Brewers by the Bay.

A: The beer is black with a small tan colored head on top. Not much retention leaving a thin cap on top.

S: Nice roasty malt, faint dark chocolate, coffee, and some oats. Slightly sweet.

T: Similar to the aroma with a combination of roasted malt, slightly charred, with some chocolate, oat, and a little coffee/mocha flavor.

M: Medium bodied and smooth, moderate carbonation. Slightly sweet finish.

O: A nice oatmeal stout, drank surprisingly well despite the heat at the outdoor event.

Very well done oatmeal stout, on tap at Iron Hill Media. Near black color, minimal head, retention or lacing. So-so appearance, but better aroma, nicely roasty, with hints of coffee and cream. Flavor delivers pleasingly, good roastiness, again, coffee, cream, milk sugars, light sweetness balancing out the bitter roast aspect. Hints of bittersweet chocolate as well.

Medium-thin bodied with moderate carbonation, feels right for the style, easy drinking, creamy and smooth.

On tap at Iron Hill Media.

On-tap, arrives with no head. Attempts to revive it fail and there's no lacing. Body is black.

Smells good, with a nice mocha, roasted coffee nose with a bit of milk chocolate. Taste is similar, with a slight bitterness coming at the finish from a dash of pine hops and roast bitterness.

Medium body, fairly low carbonation. Very smooth across the palate, but becomes watery by the time it goes down. It doesn't have that rich mouthfeel I expect from the style.

Tastes and smells good overall, but the mouthfeel is definitely lacking. Perhaps a little more carbonation would beef it up a bit and remain creamy smooth the whole time, and accentuate a little more in the finish.

A: Midnight black in the glass with a thin khaki colored head that was patchy and quick to dissolve. A very thin band is left for a lacing.

S: Decent level of fresh roasted character appears on the nose. Some light charred woodiness and roasted chocolate malts is also present. Strength is of medium proportions.

T: Nice level of roastediness appears on the open but is well mannered along with a light chalkiness. Deep burnt character, almost like freshly charred wood along with bitter chocolate malts are also pronounced. The beer finishes out with a nice roasty feel, well mannered, nothing over the top strength wise, but just enough to give you a general appreciation and reason to come back for more.

M: The mouthful was fairly smooth with just the faintest hint of carbonation on the tip of the tongue. Medium bodied with a fresh roasted lacing appearing on the swallow.

D: Nice drinkability, doesn't try to bowl you over with brute force or flavor, but invites you to have more. Easily manageable in repeats and could be a candidate for a growler recommendation.
