First stop on a weekend of beer tasting, historical site seeing, camping, and hiking in the gold country.
Brewery is smack dab in the middle of Old Town Auburn. In a nice old brick building, a bit tough to park on a Friday night, but not bad. Atmosphere was pretty good. Big bar, a few tv's, and pretty lively.
Quality was quite good. Sampled a couple of beers, an IPA that was above average, and a barleywine that was quite tasty.
I was happy with the selection, there were 10 beers on tap.
Food was good as well. Both myself and my friend were happy with our meals.
Value was about right. A touch more expensive than other breweries I have been to, but not bad.
Overall... a very nice place that is worth a stop.

I liked this place, but did not love it. Their beer was OK, their fried Pickle Chips were awesome! If you have never been to Auburn, you are usually passing it to/from Tahoe. It has the appearance of an old mining town with all kinds of boutique shops that my wife (not I) would describe as "cute". Personally I like reading all the historic plaques. Anyways, this place is an upscale restaurant with a brewery in the back. The beer is alright, not bad, but not great....meh! We still ended up buying a growler of Fool's Gold, a hoppy pale ale. Most of their beers have a prospector-ish connotation. One cool thing that I did notice was that they had a bunch of growlers on display, I saw Stone, Alpine, and CBC among many others. Maybe they don't make great beer, but they do appreciate it. The fried pickles are the most memorable aspect of this place, their beer wasn't. If I am in the area again, I will probably stop by if I am thirsty. Otherwise, I am not making any efforts to return here.

This is a great place. The beers are all very good with the Miner's Wheat, Old Town Brown and Gold Digger IPA leading the way. The IPA is especially good with a significant hop aroma and a definite citrus hop flavor. The hops are prominent but it is actually well balanced with a solid malt backbone.
The food is also excellent here as they have done a great job of creating a varied but high quality menu. I;ve had the pulled pork sandwich, fish tacos, Shanghai chicken salad, and the ribs. Much better than most pubs. This place is definitley worth the trip!
