22oz bottle purchased as a single from Byrne Dairy in Syracuse by the fairgrounds.
Poured into an imperial pint, formed a 1/2" beige head over the clear coppery brew. Head lasts pretty well, with good lacing. Aroma is earthy, with a bit of fruitiness.
Taste starts sweet, gets a touch of cherry tart in the middle, and closes with slightly chalky, lightly hoppy notes. Aftertaste not terribly pleasing, tart coming back. Mouthfeel is reasonably smooth, and drinkability is average. Eh.

Thanks to pmsawyer for sharing this bomber. Poured into a cervoise this brew appears a burnt copper color. Ruby clarity is seen throughout the body and orange to yellow coloration closer to the edges. A tan head, 2 fingers strong quickly dissolves leaving a webbing of lacework on the glass. Across the top remains a constant film.
The smell of this brew is quite grassy to herbal with a medicinal character. It is fruity and floral at first but as the brew warms up there is a bit of a plastic character mixed with sulfur which is off-putting.
The taste is malty initially with toasty caramel. There is a contrasting bitterness of herbal hops with a touch of fruity to floral note. Some more maltiness comes out as the brew warms lightly almost smoked in nature mixed with plastic like the aroma indicated.
This is a medium bodied brew with a modest level of carbonation. It is decent balance but some strange stuff is going on here. It seems like the fermentation wasn't as clean as it should have been.

Another friday means another horseheads brew at j ryans!
A- pours a reddish amber body with a fair head of foam and lacing on the sides. The color is definitely light in view of light. Some foam hangs around
S- some faint caramel, fruit, and some unfermented sugar jump up. This is a sugary amber ale scent which I am ok with
T- some sweet sugary malt actually coincides with a dry finish that I like. Good flavors that I enjoy
M- great carbonation and dry flavor as well stick around the brew. The brickyard has good flavors on the palate
D- horseheads delivers with another good brew that is not only drinkable but also enjoyable. It's not overwhelming with thickness and I think that contributes to the drinkability

A- pours a clear med. burnished copper color w/ a thick off-white head which slowly settles into a ring of lace that coats the sides of my nonic quite well
S- not a strong smell at all, cereal grain with some darker roasted malts and hints of fruity, spicy yeast, a touch of citrus and nuts as it warms
T- taste is similar to smell except for the bitter presence of floral hops just a tad bit unbalanced, mostly bready malts, darker caramel and toasted nuts with just a hint of dark fruit and some kinda spice linger in the background, finish is crisp w/ a touch of metal
M- a semi-dry light-med bodied brew w/ a decent co2 level
D- a pretty quaffable beer, prob. more suited to a cool spring day then the frigid winter of the great white north

Thanks again to Lum for this Horseheads brew.
22 oz. bomber poured into a nonic.
Pours a clear rustic orange copper with a two finger off-white head that dies down to a thin layer of foam. Fair amount of stick is left on the sides of the glass. Smell is very unqiue; clove and spices with a hint of caramel malt up front. Underneath are some citrus hops and metallic notes as well. Strong sweet candy sugar up front with an aggressive punch of bitter hops that follow. Midway on the tongue grains emerge with peppery spices, different to say the least. Not sure I've really tasted anything like this before, and unfortunately that's not a good thing with this beer. Needs more stability in the taste department. Medium body with stinging feel and a good amount of carbonation. Not really diggin' this beer. I'll take the Pale Expedition Ale anyday over this one. Thanks again Paul for hookin' me up!

The beer pours a dark amber/red color with a thick frothy offwhite head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is decent. It has a sweet crystal malt scent along with a roasted character. There is a faint hop bitterness in there as well. The taste is average. It has a very sweet crystal malt flavor. It goes down easy, but finishes bitter and dry. It's not very balanced at all. The mouthfeel is decent. It is a medium/full bodied beer with less than adequate carbonation. This could be a good beer, but it's a little too sweet. It needs more attenuation; less malt sweetness.

Pours a clear copper amber color with less than a finger wispy off white head that fades slowly. Spotty lacing generated. The smell is nice; a malty caramel sweetness. Medium bodied, the mouth feel is adequately carbonated, smooth, creamy and has a reasonable note of hops. The flavor and nose are similar. A light caramel and mild roast malt taste. A reasonable drinker and at 5.5% ABV will be a hit at the ball game!
