Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a standard pint.

Appearance: Pours an orange/gold color with a moderate white head that doesn't last long. Light lacing.

Smell: Citrusy, inviting.

Taste: Does absolutely nothing to stick out from the pack. Citrusy, with some okay hops and an okay caramel malt. Kinda bland, all things considered.

Mouthfeel: Medium to light, kind of watery. Lackluster.

Probably PBC's weakest offering to me. Doesn't bring anything interesting or different to the table, and it competes with Yards Philadelphia Pale Ale, which is phenomenal in my book.

Light orange in color with a yellowish hue and perfect clarity. Poured with a short white foam that quickly reduced to a wispy cap. Aroma is a nice combination of citrus orange hops and caramel malt. Medium bodied with tangy hop bitterness through the middle and light, rich carbonation. Bready, caramel malt sweetness down the middle with hop bitterness around the edges from start to finish. Citrus orange hop bitterness up front with bready caramel malt sweetness underneath. Citrus and light floral hop flavors near the end. Finishes with a lightly crisp, bitter hop aftertaste.

A: Actually rather dark for an IPA style. Amber with a thick cloudy head that stays

S: Citrus and flowers, very sharp

T: Citrus, grains, potent bitterness with a sweet immediate bite as well, strong bitter aftertaste

M: Smooth, not excessively carbonated, not too oily

This beer is honestly one of the cheaper decent IPAs I've encountered. I'm not a natural fan of IPA. I tend to like darker beers, but this one is interesting and tasty, if not necessarily easy to toss back. What it lacks in crowd-appeal it makes up for in complexity

From 10/27/12 notes. Had this on tap at Dirty Frank's in Philly. Served in a pint glass.

a - Pours a clear golden color with one inch of white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells of fruity malts, pine hops, light citrus, bready malts. Lots of pine and fruit, very nice nose.

t - Taste follows the nose. tastes of pine hops, fruity malts, tropical fruits, citrus, bready malts. A little hoppier than the nose; again, quite nice.

m - Moderate carbonation and medium body. No bitterness, and pretty easy to drink.

o - Overall a very nice local pale ale. Some nice fruit and pine hops to it and easy to drink. Would like to have it again.
