I stumbled across this place while working in Wooster. I was going to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch and seen this place and thought "what the heck I'll check it out" thinking it was just a liquor store. Boy, was I wrong. I ended up spending my lunch hour in there and finally purchasing some micros. I can't rememeber what I got the first time because I stop in almost every time I work in the town.
The staff seems knowledgeable. I have asked about several micros and they either have an answer or find one for me from one of their peers. I have to drive an hour to find a good selection and this is as good as I have found in Columbus.
Hopefully, I will work in that area soon.

This place is awesome, stumbled upon it while going to the movie theater that's right next to it. Love their bomber slection, tons of IPAs and RIS that you can't get in my town. Gary's is also the closest place to Mansfield that had a good stock of Hopslam, definitely picked up a few six packs. Their selection in general is pretty impessive, tons of Lagunitas, Stone, Bells, and some that I've never even seen before. Picked up a bottle of War Lord IPA, which was pretty darn good. I'll for sure be returning to see what fall and winter seasonals they'll get in.

I try to stop in here every time I'm at my parents place. Their selection is great, and I often find things here that I haven't seen in Columbus, either because it can't stay on the shelves long enough in Columbus, or because no one stocks it there.
As you walk in, the large beer selection is to the left. They have a great selection of craft beers, imports and of course your standard BMC. The beer is categorized very appropriately, making it pretty easy to find what you're looking for. Most of the time I'm here I get asked if I need help, but if it's close to closing on a weeknight, there's no attention paid to you.
The store is always clean and really looks nice inside. The liquor selection is also fairly decent from the quick glances I've taken. This is definitely the place to go around Wooster.
As previously noted, they stopped accepting plastic, so be sure to take cash in with you. Other than that, definitely a good place to stop in if you happen to be in the area.

I have been to Gary's on many occasions as I live nearby. They have a good selection of micros, including many labels from Bell's, Founders, Rogue, Stone, Dogfish Head, Great Lakes, Left Hand, Thirsty Dog, and Flying Dog. These are mostly their popular stuff. They have a couple of Ale Smith, Hoppin' Frog, and Brew Kettle beers. That's all I can recall but there are many, many more micros as well as the regular American pilsners and the usual imports.
They also carry kegs in half and one-sixth barrel sizes. If they don't have it, they can often order it for you. It usually takes less than a week.
While the selection is good, I have often gone there looking for something and been disappointed. I get the feeling there is no one ordering beer there that has their finger on the pulse of the micro culture. So you won't find KBS or Hoptimus or most specialty or seasonals that people are writing and talkng about. The place is basically a liquor store with a good selection of beer.
I have found some beers on the shelf pretty dated. The other day I found Burton Baton bottled on 11/20/2010, so it was four months in the bottle. The guy working there said it was just delivered. Even for an oak aged double that is a little old on the shelf for me.
I have a real problem with brewers that don't mark their beers with dates bottled. The time in the bottle makes a big difference in aroma in particular. The hop flavor also dissipates with time. When you pay 10 or 11 bucks for a six pack of beer, it should be fresh.
I recommend Gary's. Bring cash because they don't accept ANY plastic.

Well being as there were no reviews for this place yet I figured I would throw one on here for my fellow BAs. I want to start by saying I drove 30 miles to check this place out and got a flat tire in the rain on the way, and I think it was still worth it.
It was a bit of a task finding the place not be familiar with the area at all but just for your reference look for a Movies 10 its in the same plaza. Plenty of parking is available as it is in a plaza. When you first walk in the beer is to your left. There is a shelf to your immediate left with some seasonals and mixed packs. From there go a little further up and the wall is lined with coolers. The first set has a few seasonals along with some pony kegs (very cool) then the rest of the coolers have your typical macros (lame). To the right of the coolers are 2-3 shelves with the crafts. Very nice selection. Full lineup of:
There is a very nice showing of the rest of the regional micros. I was really happy to see some Two Brothers (one of my favorite breweries) and Troegs (newly available in OH). I should have taken more notes while I was there so my bad on that one....
I'll close by saying this place is worth the stop. Easily 100-150 different bottles. No mixed six packs I was aware of but a nice bomber selection made up for it. The prices are on par with everywhere else in the area. I will definitely go back soon! Hope this helps someone make up their mind whether to make a trip out there or not. If you're in or live near the area definitely check this place out. I guarantee you'll find something to satisfy your palate.
