Very christmas-y beer. Lot of cinnamon and gingerbread flavor. Very warming feel. Great on a cold night

I used to not like this brewery, but they have much improved (redeemed themselves with sours) and I now am willing to try any of their new offerings. This one is a winner.
It is a nice dark golden color - red. The fizz is fine but not plentiful.
The aroma is the first hint of something special - a malty nuttiness hits the nose.
The taste is an explosion of that smell - malty, for sure, but with nutty spicy vanilla tastes. All those taste sensations are in American proportions - over the top. The taste from this lingers, and gets even spicier as you go. There is yeast in there too.
I'm not sure it would go with food as it would overpower anything except maybe a cheesecake desert, or something along those lines. Maybe really flavorful foods (not what I had planned for the holidays).

Ok i cheated and had this as a black/Tan at 1st it just sounded interesting. Once I had the real deal it poured a nice cooper color and had the usual X-Mas spice taste. Lacing was good and it had a good head that lasted a little bit before fading. Quite frankly I liked it a bit better as a Black/Tan but either way it was a nice winter beer to keep u warm.

12 oz can poured into a tulip pint.
Appearance
Amber with 2 fingers of tan head. Excellent clarity with lively carbonation.
Nose
Caramel, nuts, brown sugar, molasses, and cinnamon.
Taste
Toasted and nutty malts. Caramel, brown sugar, and molasses. Moderate bitterness with earthy hops. Hints of cinnamon.
Mouthfeel
Medium-light bodied, bitter, and dry.
Overall
An interesting and hearty offering. The bitterness is a bit high but the spicing is nice and gentle.

Like cheap beer with spices... No thank you sir... With so many good Christmas ales stuff like this just falls way short
