Pours a golden amber with a 1 finger head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of some malt and yeast, a hint of grass to it. Tastes grainy and one dimensional, no sweetness or hop flavor. Overly carbonated, harsh, and watered down. Not impressed with this.

Poured from a 12oz bottle:
A: Poured a clear light golden color with a slightly less than two finger white head that dissipated rapidly. The head was moderately thick and left some decent lacing. Slight carbonation could be seen rising to the top of the glass.
S: Not much of an aroma, a little hops, that is really it.
T: Taste is average at best, if that. It had a light hoppy flavor, but it was somewhat watered down.
M/D: The beer had a medium body with maybe a little too much carbonation. Overall, the beer is really not that good and I did not finish the second one that I ordered.

I have got to say that I wasn't that impressed with this beer. Looked OK, and a nice malty aroma was a good start, but I did not like the taste. Sort of thin and sour tasting. Maybe this was a bad bottle, but it did taste fresh and was just shipped to me. Didn't really have much of a pleasent body either.

Ybor Gold Amber Lager pours a light copper color with a thin white head from a brown twelve ounce bottle. I can smell a touch of malt in the aroma but that's about it. Flavorwise, I'm most struck by the caramel malt of this beer, there are some hops, but this is just a mediocre beer, it's not well balanced and not very enjoyable.

A: Clear amber color. Decent head formation and some lacing.
S: Not a lot going on here. Lightly malty/bready. No hops at all.
T: Mild flavor. Pretty bland on the tongue with a slightly tangy finish.
M: Slightly watery. Medium-dry finish. Medium carbonation.
D: Easy to drink, but the overall lack of flavor does not lead me to want another one.

Beer review from BA Mag Nov 2007.
This brand is part of the 2005 acquisition of Ybor City Brewing, and they tout it as a classic example of a German lager. Pretty vague marketing babble. Let's see if this beer has any life to it.
Shiny clear light-brassy color, some good stickage to the lace that seems to stay around for a good while. Hint of feed grain, grassy, bit of caramel, apple skin and a faint taffy aroma. Good smoothness with a light crispness and light slickness in the mouth. Dried grass grain flavor throughout, a kiss of caramel sweetness middle to end. Hops are spicy and balancing with minimal flavor. Touch of cooked veggies and husk stick to the taste buds. Finishes on the dry side.
Not too clean for a lager, the DMS (cooked veggies) comes out a bit too long. Subpar compared to their counterparts whom they are trying to emulate. There are far better import and craft lagers out there to even think about bothering with this one.

On the pour a clear gold with the head modest in size and a frothy white color after its evaporation, the resultant lace a thin curtain to drape the glass. Nose is malt laden and sweet, fresh and crisp with the start sweet with a fair grain profile, the top light. Finish adequately hopped and minimally acidic with a dry aftertaste, just a tad to sweet overall for me.

Color is a lighter glowing gold of yellowness, silk thin white head, minimal drippy lace. Smell is clean with a musty malt overtone, lightly sweet and crisp of citrus. Taste is light and crisp of malts, quick sharp little bite then ends with a slight uneven hoppy light bitterness. Uneven lighter medium body with many spots of emptyness and a grainy textured middle, unpleasant and plain.

Crystal clear; only a shade darker than straw. Okay head for a lager, with a good lace ring.
Neutral malt aroma that is inviting but uninvigorating. Very little hop.
Relatively light flavor. This is a dry beer with a touch of hop bitterness. Good body for a lager; high carbonation. A step up from the lawn-mower crowd; great for a hot day.
Overall, an easy beer to consume. Not really a top notch offering--something of a mix between the macrobrewed and the microbrewed. This is a great stepping stone for the Bud and Miller drinkers who think microbeers are too strong.

Golden color, not much head and some bitterness. After taste is slightly hoppy, the malt and hops are a much better mix as it warms up. Hops are stronger when temperature is 40 or so.

The aroma really doesn't have much of a presence. Hints of malt with a touch of graininess and sweetness and no definitive hop quality. As warms the malt dominates.
Dark gold pushing amber with a very short lived shallow head that eventually just leaves a ring.
Malt really doesn't make much of a presence at first, but in time it shows a slight sweetness. Then as it warms it takes on a heaviness of a not so pleasing flavor. Other flavor comes from the bitterness that appears in middle with a strengthening through the finish. Dryness matches the bitterness, except at th end in which it is much longer and really rather dry.
Fullness from carbonation makes it a bit filling. Somewhat soft, otherwise on the light side.
This beer leaves me wanting. I'm just not a fan of the balancing. My first bottle the bitterness was excessive. The second time that wasn't so, but the malt had a grainy flavor that I didn't like.

Passable beer for a long flight delay. Yellow colour, foamy head. Cheese aroma head. Smooth drinking, very light toasty malts, average mouthfeel. Subdued sweetness with mild bitterness in finish. Carbonation is above average buty not obtrusive.

Appearance: golden hue, great clarity, thinnish layer of off-white foam that compacts to a thin crown
Aroma: fruity, cidery lager; hints of honey, grain, and malt
Flavor: dryish malt backbone with grainy and tobacco notes; grassy hop flavor; finishes semisweet with a mild bitterness
Mouthfeel: medium-light body, terse carbonation, somewhat crisp
Other comments: An OK lager, but nothing to spend time seeking out.

Medium gold color, small head that fades very quickly. A middle of the road lager. Lighter tasting. Mild malts and hops, but well balanced. Has some flavor to it, but nothing special with this beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

A - Clear amber with a big frothy head.
S - Light malty nose.

M - A bit watery. Carbonation is modest.

Poured from a bottle into a conical pint.
A - 2 fingers frothy white head collapsing quickly and leaving some minor lacing. Color is light amber gold as advertized.
S - Light malt and cereal grains with just a hint of spicy hops behind, not too "lagery"
T - Pretty smooth, with a gentle lead in bitterness and a gentle undertone of caramel maltiness
M - Light and briskly carbonated
O - Pretty drinkable, if very average lager. Goes well with sushi, but unremarkable otherwise. I like my second pint better than my first, which couldn't stand up to the spicy food I paired it with.

Poured a bright gold (well, that is quite a surprise). Aroma was slightly phenolic with a touch of metal, not off to a great start. Started off with some grainy sweetness that I thought was going to devolve into a corn-adjunct flavor, but the beer managed to keep it together and sailed through to a moderately bittersweet finish. The middle was noteworthy for some rather tart dryness, and the finish was fairly clean. Pleasant, and easy drinking.

12oz brown bottle. Taken from last year's notes (found in suitcase).
It pours an actual gold color with a snow-white head and some trailing and sticky lace.
The main aroma is grainy cut hay-like malt with a faint hop nose.
A sweet grassy malt taste makes me think of a "mowing the lawn on a hot summer day" beer.
The hops are lightly citrusy and a bit metallic. The finish is lightly sweet and fairly dry and clean.

A- pours a copper orange with a tiny foam cap, no lace.
S- toasted grains, malts, slight hop aroma.
T- like the smell. Unpleasantly carbonated, and watery too. It is very easy to drink though.
O- a very meh beer. Easy drinking and forgettable, but I drank it pretty fast, so at least it is smooth.

App- Rich amber with some browns and golds. Bubbles float up and have a small called white head. Some decent cling.
Smell- Very malty and earthy and a bit of granular notes. Wasn't much here.
Taste- Stricky a average beer. Along the lines of SA lager or a Bud American Ale. Malty and lacking a punch.
Mouth- Medium body and medium carbonation. Little bitter, little earthy.
Drink- Just an average beer, nice to try a local but wouldn't seek this out.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Amber gold color with some head that hangs out for a little bit, then gets bored and takes off.
I kind of understand why. Nose is pretty down the middle with a lot of grain and malt. Flavor is much the same. Not much going on here, but some ho him malt and grain, no real complexity and a carbonation that suits it.
Picked this up at a resort. Better than the ghastly Bud Light Lime offering, and fun to drink a local, but pretty uneventful. Much like that movie Trouble with the Curve.

I got this brew at a wedding in Tampa, Fl. It poured a nice amber color, that was rather translucent. There was not much head to speak of, and what was, retented fast. The lacing that sould have been left was absence. On top of this, there was no aroma, reminisecent of a macro lager. The taste had hints of hops and a tinge of malt undertones. The mouthfeel was the best, being sort of smooth. A fair beer. Don't drink and review.

Pours a clear light marigold color with a one inch white head that left some lacing.
Aroma of breadcrumbs, light lager yeast and fresh drying hay.
Taste is on par with the aroma. There is plenty of grass and a very light malty vienna grain flavor. Slightly overboiled maybe causing the grains to become a little tannic. There is a dry finish and a lingering bitterness that drops this beer from being relatively smooth to having a cauliflower aftertaste. Definitely not the best Vienna lager I have had but easy to drink and nice light beer for Hurricane Irene cleanup.
Overall ok, glad I do no have a 6 pack of it, but nice to have tried.

Has a freshness label, but nothing marked.
Poured light orangish gold with a very quickly disappearing white head that became a thin patchy foam.
Some grassiness was present - somewhat similar to a pilsener aroma.
The taste was of thin grassiness and a touch of mild hops. Some malt present, but more could be used to lend it more balance and body, imo. A slight metallic touch was noticeable.
It was pretty watery, fairly refreshing and smooth for the most part. The water did mask some of the mild flavors.
Not a great example of the style. But, not bad as a quick thirst-quencher on a hot day or to wash down some food with.

Appearance: Pours a clear medium amber color with a rather modest head that neither retains nor laces very well
Smell: A hint of crackery malt
Taste: Cracker malt up front, that turns slightly grainy both mid-palate and after the swallow; lager twang on the finish
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation
Drinkability: Easy to drink, I guess, if this is your thing, but very forgetable
