Tasted 11 July 2012, reviewed from notes. Can dated 04/03, which I think means bottled 3 April 2012.
This is a stunning lager. Pours a medium golden yellow, pretty clear. Huge white head, dense, pillowy, and cratering. Great retention, and tons of lacing. Pretty.
Smell is dull - lager yeast and bland noble hops. Has that slightly corny smell that many lagers have.
This is bad. What went wrong? It's like the beers being mocked in those old Keystone Light "bitter beer face" ads. Bitter, but in a bad way. Doesn't feel like hop bitterness, instead it's astringent and unpleasant. I really do not like this.
Mouthfeel is fine. Medium-bodied, a little heavier than I expected. Lasting finish, which is carrying that foul taste throughout my mouth.
There aren't many beers that actually taste bad to me. But this is one of them. I might just have to try it again, to confirm this experience (I'm a glutton for punishment).

Can I brought to share at drewone's tasting.
Canned 4/2/13.
Pours a murky yellow with a foamy off-white head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, and grassy aromas. Taste is much the same with grassy and hay flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.

A medium sized white to slightly off white head settles into a nice lacing above a cloudy thick well carbonated straw golden colored beer.
A very light aroma on this beer about all I can sense is some light sweet attributes, maybe from some lightly roasted grain malts.
A light taste, like washed out light grains that would seem to have been very lightly roasted, yet has a noticeable dry bitterness to the taste.
The dryness and bitterness from the taste are more pronounced in the aftertaste which is drying and without much taste on this lighter bodied beer.
Very light in taste, this would make the ideal beer pong beer, no bad tastes coming through like all the beers that come in 30 packs, yet its taste is very subdued so about anybody can drink it.

Can date: unk
A: pours a yellow ale with a single finger of egg white foam, which dissipates to a solid sheet of the same. The lager has excellent clarity. lace rings.
S: Grain, sweet bread, light hops, grass, some soil and a good pils quality. Nice.
T: Grainy, smooth, lightly bitter with some nice sweet tones and a good czech like water profile. I like the flavor and would call this pilsner in a second. And a good one at that.
M: Light body, moderate carb and a smooth finish. Well done.
O: Previously really disappointed with this one, now really happy with it. Totally dig it actually. Happy this is now available in the area.

[Best served in a Lager glass]
The pour was a hazy medium orange with a large white rocky head that had good retention, reducing slowly down to a large cap with some fair streaky lacing.
The aroma of a light straw malt, floral and grass hops and a mild soapy yeast with notes of caramel, corn and citrus (grapefruit).
The taste was bitter from the word go with a mild caramel sweetness and finished rather hoppy with a slight citrus peel presence towards the end. The flavor lasted a nice long time after the swallow with the hoppy bitterness left lingering on the taste buds.
Mouthfeel was a few shades beyond light in body with a light dry texture and a medium carbonation.
Overall a nice hoppy Lager with a smooth refreshing feel...

Poured into 10oz pilsener glass. Poured a hazy yellow color with 1/4 inch of white head that had OK retention and light lacing.
The aroma was a neutrally balanced blend of gentle grains, a slight sweetness, and just a tickle of hops. The flavors were mostly the same, a good grain base, gentle hops on the front and middle of the tongue, some tangy hops at the back, and just a light bit of sweetness. Overall, a very nice blend of flavors.
The body was very good, full while being smooth, clean and light. Drinkability was excellent, this could easily be an all-day drinker or the perfect lawnmower beer. Overall, a very nice beer. A must try. a great take on the style, and the beer a lot of other try to be. For example, after I finished this beer, I had a bottle of Full sail session that was in the fridge. Poured it into the same glass. The 1811 is beer Session wants to be when it grows up. If your in the mood for this style, I can't see doing much better than this beer. Worth seeking out or trading for.

16oz can into tulip pint.
Pours a hazy golden with a thick, foamy white head.
Pleasant malty notes upfront, with a slightly cereal-like backing.
Taste is more cereal-corn with a light malt backing.
Medium to full body with average carbonation.
A good beer for what it is, though it's clearly not a very complex style.

Poured from 16oz can into a pint glass.
Appearance: nice golden hue with a hint of haze and a nice effervescence. Head pours two good fingers of pillowy ivory foam.
Smell: light malt aroma with a hint of corn and a hint of noble-character hops. Not bad, but the corn really doesn't do it for me.
Taste: light malt with a hint of that corn and a decent hop flavor. Nice noble character with a good level of bitterness, especially for the style. Actually not too bad at all.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a low level of carbonation. Decent, but not very interesting.
Overall: actually a pretty tasty beer for the style. I feel like a little less attenuation and a little less corn aroma would help this beer a lot.
