Served On-Tap
A — Pours a lightly murky and orangey dark amber color. There is a bubbly off-white head that forms and leaves behind some spotty rings of lacing.
S — Smell is lightly assertive, nicely dialed back on the spice, get more notes of vegetal pumpkin and squash. Get a little bit of a cinnamon and allspice note but it is fairly restrained.
T — Taste is chewy and malt focused, little bit of a rye bread spiciness and a bit of a light allspice and cinnamon finish.
M — Off-Dry with a little bit of a sweet overtone on the finish.
O — Nice enough overall, little bit restrained and dialed back for the style, which is appreciated here.

Very good pumpkin? beer.
Almost like a barley wine. Very malty. Some hops for bitterness. A little pumpkin smell and taste, but mostly nice malt flavor and smells.
I would drink again this time of year. Probably the best type of this beer I've had.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a medium red-orange with a slight head that dissipates to a slender ring around the glass and a faint trail of bubbles. Aroma of bready malt and pumpkin, a bare hint of pumpkin pie spice. Flavor is bready, mildly caramel malt and pumpkin with light pumpkin pie spice, particularly clove; finishes with a lightly astringent clove and neutral hop bitterness. Nice lightly creamy body with sharp carbonation that melds with the spice/hop bitterness in the finish. Starts with a nicely balanced combination of pumpkin and the bready/caramel malt with good authentic pumpkin flavors. The finish is a little stark with the bitterness hard to identify whether it is from spices or hop with little herbal flavor. A good pumpkin ale with a nice mouth feel, but fairly straightforward and uncomplicated.
