T: Caramel up front followed by big bitter citrusy hop flavor.
M: Medium bodied slightly sticky mouthfeel finishes dry and hot
O: This double IPA is pretty drinkable but there are much better out there for sure.

22 oz. bottle poured into a goblet.

Appearance - Deep copper. Clear ripply body. Big white head. Lots of surface foam and lace.

Smell - Musty pine and grapefruit hop. Slightly nutty malt. Deep caramel.

Taste - Juicy grapefruit. It's the most prominent hop flavor. Strong malt character. Deep caramel. Some sweetness. Not a lot of bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Heavy malt character. Slick and medium heavy. Medium carbonation.

Overall - I felt this was too heavy at first, but this gets much better as I drink it. Super malty but it's got a great flavor.

Served in tulip. Poured a lightly hazy honey-gold color with 1/2 inch of white head that had good retention and lots of sticky lacing.

The aroma was powerful wow of piney hops, with a bit of floral in the background. There wasn't a noticeable malt presence. On the tongue, the hops were a bit more citrusy, rather than piney or floral, and there was a lingering bitter finish. And the malts were barely noticeable, balance is not a word for this brew.

The body was fairly typical of a West Coast ImpIPA, a bit on the thinner side, with a grapefruit bite at the back. Drinkability was decent, about as expected for the style. Overall, a good enough brew, not one that makes me do my happy dance of joy, but worthy of a few minutes of your time.

On tap at the new Oakshire pub the other day.

The beer pours a golden amber color with pretty good head retention and lacing. The nose is very impressive in this beer, as I pick up noticeable tangerine, light tropical fruit, and hint of dank earth, dry citrus and pine by the lumber yard. The flavor profile replicates the nose in this dry, West Coast style DIPA. It's impressive, but there's some noticeable heat from alcohol in the dry, hoppy/bitter finish. Mouthfeel is meidum bodied to fairly full otherwise, and the finish is long, dry and bitter, with a bit of an alcoholic bite. This beer has plenty sweet malt flavor, but the hoppy bitterness is more than sufficient to counter and balance it.

An impressive DIPA, no doubt, and I think having it fresh at the brewpub undoubtedly helped. My guess is that this DIPA probably doens't age well, which might explain some of the low scores for this beer.

Served on tap into a snifter

A- Poured a really nice bright and hazy orange with white soapy head that left splashy lace. Very nice color on this beer

S- Very aromatic. Huge candied tangerine, pineapple, peach, and some caramel malt sweetness. Definitely get a lot of juicy, pungent, and fruity hop sweetness

T- Big candied tangerine, pineapple, peach, and piney hop notes. Very nice sweet caramel malt backbone. Very juicy and fruity hop flavors, fairly pungent, assertive hop bitterness on the finish

M- Very dry, soft carbonation, medium to full bodied. Substantial mouthfeel but not syrupy at all and no alcohol presence either

O- A top notch DIPA with tons of juicy, fruity, and sweet hop flavors with a nice complimentary malt backbone and enough bitterness on the finish to cut the sweetness. An amazing DIPA

22 picked up tonight on the way home from work at Brewforia in Meridian.. Paid a pricey $9.. shared with reinheitsgematt (COOP Matt).

Short lasting white head... only okay lacing.. the brew is hazed light orange...

Nose is the new thing in PNW DIPA's.... "Tropical Fruit Bowl", but unfortunately, the residual maltiness almost makes this one smell like an overripe fruit salad... almost sickly sweet.

Flavor thankfully is much better... nice bitter punch... the fruity hops lay down a great groundwork and linger but allow things to air out a bit .. too much malt presence... This needs drying out quite a bite to make a drinker than a sipper.

Body seems a touch too much... carbonation is about right...

I would grudgingly buy this one again... It just seems too damn expensive for what it is.

Pours a translucent orange color with a 2 finger creamy head. Aroma was floral and slightly tropical with plenty of citrus. Big bitter punch on the taste, with citrus, tropical fruits and some floral and grassy hops. Full bodied, with a slight crisp carbonation bite. Drinkability is good. I don't think the ABV is 10% still. I could be recalling wrong, but I want to say that I remember the bottle saying 8.3%. Either way, it's a nice DIPA to have around.

Got this from Let's Pour mail order. Poured at a good temperature with a smallish, off-white that settles to an island and ring plus a little lace. Color is a clear orange amber with a couple lazy bubble trails. Aroma is hop, resin, some citrus, malt. Flavor's a very tasty blend of the nose qualities, has carbonic tang with the resin, citrus, hop blended perfectly up front with a little sweet in back. Body & carbonation are perfect too. Finish is like flavor, long, and a little boozy. Great drinking beer!

A- Dark copper color with a thin white head. Thin lacing in the glass.

S- A mix of floral hops, citrus aromatics and some caramel.

T- Hops dominate right away, but some sweet caramel malts kick in through the mid palate and the finish. Straightforward west coast IPA flavors. Bitter aftertaste.

M- A bit thick and oily. Medium bodied, lacking the crispness of some IPA, but reasonably pleasant.

O- A well made West Coast IPA. Not sure if anything is standing out or making it memorable, but I enjoyed it and would buy it again.

9.3% abv. 22oz. bottle.

Appearance: (4.0)

- Pours a nice clear copper penny color. Fluffy finger and a half of white thick head, fizzled slowly down to a thin and lightly spotty paper-thin layer over the brew. Half-inch of solid lace sticking to the glass. A pretty beer.

Smell: (3.0)

- A grainy, malty aroma. Biscuit, sweet bread, and light brown sugars. Seems like German malts, some that I am not too fond of in an IPA. Slight tart aromas, fruity hop, fruit salad... just a tad off for me.

Taste: (3.0)

- Certainly a fruity mix with the bready and grainy sweet malt. Lots of caramel, bitter grassy and earthy hops, and an interesting nutty waldorf salad-like flavor. Certainly a spicy bitterness. Overall it just isn't quite there for me. Big diacetyl flavors...

Mouth Feel: (3.5)

- Medium body, slightly syrupy and sticky, and well carbonated. Bit cloying and dry from the good bitterness. Chewy yes.

Overall: (3.0)

- Can't say I am digging this beer. I have had it on tap a few times, and I feel the same about it in the bottle. After having a Fat Tug IPA, this beer falls very short. It's earthy bitterness and mouth feel is decent, but the malt and nutty fruit just doesn't hit the spot.
