Served on-tap at Weeping Radish Eco Farm & Brewery in Grandy, NC

A: Pours a very lightly hazy dark apricot/peach to orange in color with some very light amounts of visible carbonation and some golden yellow + peach highlights. The beer has a half finger tall sudsy/soapy off-white head that reduces to a medium to large patch of very thin film along with a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light to moderate aromas of caramel and grainy malts with a touch of sweetness and just a hint of spicy hops.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of malts - I get both caramel malts and toasted cereal grain malts with a light amount of sweetness. There are some very light hints of earthy and spicy hops that become a little more pronounced as the beer warms up. Light amounts of bitterness which fades rather quickly.

M: Slightly less than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly thin/watery.

O: This beer was easy to drink but just was not a good enough representation of the style for me to want to go back for more. There was just a little something missing in the mouthfeel and the flavor that left we wanting.

another tap offering from radish, this one i was really not so crazy about at all. pours out a clear, amber color with a small head of white that grows into an overcarbonated mess within minutes.

aroma is very light, hardly existent at all with light grains, and a touch of some wet hay like aroma that really just does not work well for this one at all. very, very light feel with loads of carbonation leaves you looking for my flavor as it just seems one dimensional with loads of bready grains and light malts, this really does not have much at all to go. clean finish leaves little after taste to speak of.

overall i have to give it an ehh. it tried but just was not going to happen here.

A: Pours a deep beautiful gold color with nice tan cap which settles down to a thin film sticking slightly to wall of glass. Nice and clear as poured the 22 oz. Into pint glasses.

S: Aroma consists mainly of malt and very little hops.

T: First sip and sweet caramel malt flavor sweeps the mouth. Second sip reveals a hidden light taste of hoppy flavors.

M: Surprising this beer is not thin and watery as I first thought it would be. Medium bodied and silky, good carbonation level .

O: Overall a drinkable beer with some little surprises in it.

Picked this up on trip to OBX and was nice in the summertime, drank a few down there and this one for rating, brings summer right back with a few sips.

Had this beer at Cosmos' pizza in Corolla, the best restaraunt in Corolla serious.

A straw colored brew with ample head but little carbonation.
Aroma was grassy and grainy malts, typical lager here.

Taste was crisp and refreshing with moderate levels of biscuit malts and some tart lemon.
Hops are low and balanced the malts nicely I think.

Had a medium mouthfeel some bitterness and some grainy aftertaste.

A good beer alittle light in flavor but still good.

Purchased a bomber from Brew Thru at Nags Head, NC.

Poured into a tall 22oz taper glass. Nice straw-colored yellow with a relatively small white head of less than a finger or so. Crystal clear on the pour but not much lacing to speak of.

Smells like your basic lager, but has a touch more on the nose in the way of grain or malt. Smells good, but nothing more than average.

Taste is interesting in that there is a lot more malty sweetness on the palate than you would expect for the color and the nose. There is still a decent amount of balance here, but there is definitely a nod to the malt. Finish is mostly clean, but that sweet grain wants to hang in there for a while.

The mouthfeel is heavier than you would expect, perhaps because of the maltiness. It was rather enjoyable in the beginning but the longer it went on, the more I was ready for the glass to be done so I could move on. Not something I would drink a lot of, but definitely something I would enjoy in smaller doses. I liked it overall and would like to try it with food next time.

Pours a pale straw yellow body with vigorous bubbles of carbonation dancing up to the feather-white head that quickly dissipates to only a hint of lacing.

Nice, clean malt aroma accompanied by faint spicy hop notes as well as wheat and citrus zest.

The flavor leaves a bit to be desired, but consists of similar citrus zest, grainy malt, and a touch of sweetness, but as it warms the carbonation almost seems to detract from the flavor.

This beer is lighter in body and although the carbonation is generous, it is not nearly what I had expected based off of the appearance.

As this beer warms it lacks some of the flavor character and crisp mouthfeel that some of its counterparts possess, however it does start off very nice and is worth a sample.

Pours slightly hazy amber with a smallish, stable head. The aroma is sweet and malty, with a little flower over the top. The flavor is round and very wheaty, like a mouthfull of strong breakfast cereal. There is a strong bitterness on the back end, most unexpected, with some summer fruit - apricot, nectarine, white peach, and even raisin. The mouthfeel is thick and ropey.

22oz bottle enjoyed on vacation... (maybe that's why my scores are so much higher than the avg?)

Pours with a light head that fades to film, over a chill-hazed gold color body.

Aromas of orange, cardboard, biscuit, and a citrusy zest.

Flavors of orange and grapefuity hops. Nicely balanced with whole grain bready malts.

Mouthfeel is crisp, and well carbonated overall.

Smooth drinking and enjoyable. Pick some up if you're in the OBX!

Review from notes taken on 6/6/10.

Poured from a bomber into a pint. This brew appears a crystal clear light orange color with 2 fingers of white creamy head. Decent retension and lacing sticks about the glass. The aroma has a hint of caramel sweetness along with some hops and a slghtly sour, sulfuric note on the backend.

The taste of this brew has a grainy sweetness with notes of caramel and slight bitterness from the hops. Some
minorly citrus character is evident from the hops in the finish which is quite crisp. Overall a light feel with a moderate level of carbonation. Not too bad of a brew buy as it warms, there is an increased amount of sulfur noted.

Part of 'Help clear out the drawer of my beer fridge'. Pours a golden straw color with a very bubbly head that is gone quickly. Smell is rather corn based. Flavor is light and hoppy. Very highly carbonated. Very bubbly and champagne like. Very light and non-cloying. Refreshing.

Bottle courtesy of Imstillthegman poured into the New Belgium snifter he provided.

Pours a hazy yellow orange with a soapy white head that shows very good retention and excellent lacing. It looks pretty good.

Not a lot going on in the smell. The aroma is definitely grainy with some pretty strong sweet malts as well.

The taste was a little subpar for me as the grains and malt sweetness are overpowered by a fairly unpleasant sourness that just doesn't sit right.

The mouthfeel is pretty thin with good carbonation.

This looks OK and smells OK but the taste seemed off to me. That sourness really takes away from the drinkability.

Purchased a bomber at the brewery in Jarvisburg, NC.

A: Moderate gold hue.

S: A strange bitter aroma smells sour and off. The stink masks anything else.

T: A strange bitter flavor throughout destroys any traditional malt character that should be found in a helles. This is just an awful taste.

D,notes: You have to question why this beer is being sold anywhere let alone out of the brewery. A dreadfully bad beer with no value or redeeming character. Very disappointing.

Brought back from some extended family, a case of it was given to my cousin and he stopped by with a couple German style pints of 16.9oz bottles of this one. Appears a bright golden with large bubbled quickly fleeting head leaves thin scant lacing behind, nothing spectacular looking here. Aroma offers a tart offness with some lingering fruit quality and cereal and dextrose sweetness. Flavor is upfront with some lactic tartness that actually ended in some mild heartburn after drinking the whole thing, sweetness from the dextrose and pale malts is over shadowed by the tart apple offness. Really bad and uncohesive if the flavor. Mouthfeel is thin watery carbonation is weak and doesn't carry this brew well at all. Drinkability overall is really poor I won't go looking for this one I remember liking the Black Radish and their amberfest awhile back but this is just bad beer being labeled as craft and microbrewed.

Served from a 16.9oz bottle into a pint glass with no dating on the bottle. Pours a slightly hazy, golden color with a nonexistant head. The only bubbles were caused by a vigorous pour in an effort to pry some foam from the beer. Not much carbonation action going on either.

Aroma was immediately sour with some green apple aromas. Not very pleasing. Even some DMS in this one. Blech.

Not much going on in the tongue department. Sour tasting with a bit of caramel maltiness coming through in the end giving a decent cereal type finish. Otherwise pretty bland.

Below average for sure. Watery and thin and not worth another bottle, or even one bottle. :(

I poured this beer into my tumbler at 50 degrees. The beer was a nice golden color with a pretty white fluffy head. I thought maybe this was going to be a great beer for drinkig a few. The smell was sour which flipped me out and it was yeasty. The taste was terrible. like vinegar or pickel juice. This was my second in a row Weeping Raddish brew I was trying and both were off. I will not buy again

Bought on bottle from their restaurant in Manteo.

Behind the Farm Brew, this was my second least favorable beer I had from Weeping Radish.

The best feature of the beer is the appearance, which pours a hazy golden/orange, besides that, I found very little else to amaze.

The smell is almost nonexistent. The taste in the mouth felt a bit thin and dissipates in the mouth too quickly, doesn't leave a lasting impression.

A 500 mL bottle purchased at Chip's in Kill Devil Hills, NC.

A: The lager has a bright orange color, hazy with a marmalade look (minus all the thick goopy stuff that makes up marmalade). The head was nothing to get worked up about.

S: The nose is grainy but generally lacks any noteworthy elements.

T: Fresh this beer is a formidable opponent. Unfortunately I can't report the same for the bottled version. The graininess is evident but it is undercut by an unpleasant sweetness. The finish has the biscuity cereal flavors and too much of a buttery taste. If you have the choice of a capped bottle or swingtop growler, take the growler.

M: The mouthfeel won't excite you but it may disappoint.

D: I am baffled by the disconnect. Fresh it beer is awesome (and was my best in show at the first beerfest I ever attended), but this bottled version seems to fall short.
