This is a seasonal release that will be available in Hawaii and the mainland. 2011 GABF silver award winner.

Pours cloudy, muddy dark orange/golden with a 1-finger fluffy white head. Good retention.

Aroma is musty, yeast, hay and wheat.

Taste of hay, citrus and yeast. Some coriander and wheat come through.

Mouthfeel is medium-light. A little lifeless on the tongue.

Overall, this is a very drinkable and enjoyable brew. Nice beach beer. Another solid entry from MBC.

On draughrt at the brewpub, La Perouse is very murky, dull gold with a small white collar leaving the slightest lace.

Smell is grainy, almost wort like, and corriander.

Taste is big on the citrus spices, a little sharpness. Some yeasty flavors, light sweetnees.

Mouthfeel is crisp, a touch of fullness aligns with the appearence, but generally rather light.

Drinkability is fine, too spicy, could use less spice and a little more time in the brite tank.

Canned March 2012

hazed grain color with a almost solid sheet of bone whites. Smells like wit, coriander and a hint of clove with some underlying grain and corn. Taste is clean white with some coriander and some clay and a hint of hay; simple, but clean. Medium bodied with hi carb and a dry finish. Okay wit, would advise wit fans to give a try.

Poured from 12oz can into Globe Glass

A. Pours 2 finger light head. Decent retention. Moderate lacing. Color is a hazy golden yellow.

S. Yeast, spice, lemon, has a bit of sourness. Interesting smelling wit. Has a pretty refeshing smell to it.

T. Interesting. Nice fruity citrusy flavor with some corriander going on in the background. Pretty yummy and refreshing. Get a little bit of clove as it warms. Nice mix of spice and fruit.

M. Medium bodied. Mediuam carbonation. Lingering sweetness.

O. Would like to have access to cans of this year round. Excellent summer beer. Overall I would say this is a pretty neat take on a wit beer. Has a bit more tropical fruit flavor injected into the traditional spices of a wit.

The pour is a cloudy pale yellow color with a fluffy white head. The nose is sort of bland. A light cracker malt aroma, some hints of spice, a little straw, and maybe some yeast. As it warms, some orange does come out. The flavor is a bit more robust, but it sort of tastes like Malibu rum. Very fruity, almost artificially so. Coconut, oranges, and a hint of vanilla. Light coriander flavor, and very little malt character. Very strange...

12 oz. can into standard pint glass. Canned: 03/28/12. Really wantedto try this as I am a fan of Maui.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy straw yellow with a thin one finger white head that fades quickly to a small ring and no lacing.

Aroma: Orange zest, pineapple, lots of coriander spice and wheat.
Smells like the beach.

Taste: Orange citrusy zest up front along with some wheaty Belgian yeast. Before a boatload of coriander and spice takes control and holds throughout the finish.

Mouthfeel: Dry and medium bodied. It's a little heavier than expecting but I'm not complaining. Moderate carbonation. Spicey finish. My only complaint is the coriander is a little overpowering. However, it's a pretty solid drinkable wit. Good for summer.

A big thank you goes out to the creator of the can quest, woodychandler, for providing this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a cloudy yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is alive with spice and citrus. Taste is subtle spice and orange, some wheat. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall goes great in this extreme heat.

Poured into 9oz pilsener glass. Poured the expected cloudy whitish color that typifies the style. The beer had about 1/4 inch of white head that had OK retention and very light lacing.

The aroma and flavors were both the expected wheat, yeast and spice that makes Wits one of my summer favorites. The coriander was present without being overpowering, as it sometimes can be, and the orange was very subdued as well.

The body was very crisp and clean, with a dry wheaty finish. Drinkability was, as I find most of the style to be, very good indeed. Overall, a solid, enjoyable example of the style. Not in the elite level of Wits, but a good choice for the river, beach, cookout or just plain drinkin'. Worth trying when you see it.

A: Poured a nice, light golden color with a thick finger of pillowy white foam, bubbles with some good head retention

S: The fruitiness and wheat are a bit muted with some Belgian yeast and light pepper hanging in their.

T: A nice, immediate and refreshing beer with light wheat, some pepperness, hay, citrus and a light dash of passion fruits

M: Medium bodied, crisp, refreshing

O: Nice and drinkable witbier. No major flaws or complaints

12oz can into a tulip

A: Pours a very hazy light golden color with two fingers of thick white head.

S: Lots of wheat, coriander, and lemon zest.

T: Similar to smell, but a bit cleaner than aroma. Wheat up front with clean lemon zest and quite a bit of peppery spice. Very clean and refreshing.

M: Very light with good carbonation.

O: This is a very refreshing beer. Quite dry with a great lemon zest and pepper spice taste. The beer was gone before I knew it. I'm a big fan.

The Crack & Glug was flawless, thanks to my having (slightly) agitated the CAN just beforehand. I had just over a finger of rocky, off-white head that burbled and popped as I watched, quickly receding to nothingness. The beer itself was a very cloudy orangish-yellow like freshly squeezed grapefruit juice. Nose was MUCH sweeter than the earlier Blanche de Bruxelles with the Mandarin oranges really making their presence known. The coriander was also quite evident on the nose and the yeast seemed to be taking a back seat in this case. Mouthfeel was soft and creamy with a light citrusy spiciness on the tongue, kind of like eating a sorbet. Style freaks would probably dun it, but I don't have those kinds of hang-ups. Finish was semi-sweet, definitely refreshing and while it may not necessarily be my bag, I still enjoyed it and could see myself drinking more while at the beach.

12 fl oz aluminum can (with a strangely cool top - the grip is excellent!) served into a conical Guinness pint glass in me gaff in low altitude Los Angeles, California. 5.2% Canned 03/28/2012. Reviewed live. Expectations are above average. I like the style.

Served refrigerator cold and allowed to warm slightly over the course of consumption. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.

A: Pours a two finger beige head without much cream, pretty thin, and of average retention. Colour is a cloudy murky dull yellow. No yeast particles are visible. Nontransparent. No bubble show.

Sm: Pale hops, clean full barley, light lemon hints, a bit of yeast, and clean malts. A mild to moderate strength aroma. Somewhat inviting, but fairly generic for the style.

T: Clean barley and malts form the simple but effective full-bodied foundation. Fresh lemon peel rounds out the profile and comes off as surprisingly clean and enjoyable. I quite like it, in spite of its simplicity. No yeast or alcohol comes through. Nicely balanced and built, though there's no real complexity and very little subtlety.

Mf: Smooth and wet, suiting the flavours nicely. The thickness is apt, though it's overcarbonated but not to the point of inhibiting sharpness.

Dr: A nice little witbier. Quite drinkable. I'd definitely try this on draught. A good offering from Maui, and one I'd like to see brewed on a continuous basis.

A - Pours a cloudy golden-yellow with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some light lace.

S - Aroma is a mix of wheat with some lemon zest, Belgian yeast, coriander, and other spices.

T - Starts off with a mix of sweet wheat with some lemon zest, coriander, and a bit of Belgian yeast. Through the middle, some more yeast character comes through with a bit more spice and pepper. The finish is a mix of wheat and other grains with some lemon zest, and some Belgian yeast.

M - Medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and lightly spicy finish.

D - Very drinkable. Nice balance, but a bit empty and a bit thin bodied. Good yeast character though.
