Draft service into a goblet at Brix in Sunset Beach.

A: Clear, medium golden color with one finger of diminishing white foam head. Light lacing remains on the palate.

S: Bright fruit dominates, with sweet apple, apricot, and golden raisin all detected. There is also a faint element of bready yeast but it stays subordinate to the fruit.

T: Begins off-dry, with bright mixed fruit and honey. Acidity is mild, but welcome--at home amidst the other flavors. Some pineapple character emerges in the middle, but without the characteristic sweet or tart modifier that one might expect to accompany it in obligate fashion. The finish is not bitter, but does feature a whiff of pilsner malt and more lingering pineapple.

M: Thin to medium viscosity, wet and smooth on the palate, with moderate carbonation.

D/O: This filtered wheat beer is fairly accomplished, refreshing the palate while generating interest. It is quite dissimilar to most other wheat beers, in appearance as well as other qualities. It presents itself more like an adventurous blond ale than anything traditionally associated with wheat.

Poured from a 355ml can into a dimpled pint mug.

Pours a hazy orange-golden colour with a thick white head.

Smells fruity, refreshing and quite fresh.

Tastes nicely balanced between refreshing pineapple - not very tart which is good, and the medium bodied wheat element which is firm and refreshing also.

Overall a pretty simple tasting beer, but refreshing and tasty. Would love to have access to dozens of cheap cans of this stuff.

Pours a cloudy golden wheat color--looks like a pineapple appropriately enough--with a pretty nice white head.

Smells of pineapple juice, tart wheat, pepper.

Much of the same, sweet pineapple juice, nice wheaty character with a lightly tart character, some pepper and yeast on the finish.

Good full carbonation, refreshing mouthfeel.

I like this! More successful than most of the fruit wheat experiments out there.

Enjoyed this 12oz can out of a Belgian tulip glass.

A: Pours a clear light golden hue with a 2-finger white head that quickly dissipates into a wispy lace.

S: Fruity pineapple aroma with a decent wheat scent.

T: Crisp and fruity – mostly citrus and pineapple.

M: Medium body and medium carbonation.

O: Refreshing light beer – worthy of a try.

355ml Can (a works leaving gift):
Cloudy yellow with a foamy, white lacing for a head.

Pineapple, a strong wheat aroma & some tropical fruits. Citrus & a touch of clove in there too.

Pineapple upfront along with some tropical flavours. Again there is some citrus backed up with some light spices and a sweet, fruity taste.

Light medium & fairly refreshing with moderate carbonation and a good, sweet and summery mouthfeel.

As expected this one is pretty tropical and fruit with a good, refreshing taste to it and one that made for easy drinking. A great tasting beer that mixes a traditional hefeweizen with tonnes of tropical flavours and somehow it works.

Appearance - Pours a cloudy, mellow, dirty orange with a white finger width head that fizzes away like soda, leaving nothing but traces of bubbles clinging to the sides of the glass.

Smell - A very simple, clean aroma of wheat and pineapple sweetness.

Taste - Largely a wheat taste with faint notes of pineapple sweetness rounding out the profile. Simple, straight-forward flavor. There's absolutely nothing else to it.

Mouthfeel - Light in body with fizzy carbonation. Easy drinking.

Overall - Pretty average APWA. Simple, two note flavor. Fizzy. Fairly hefty price tag. Not a good combination. Good summer brew, but there are considerably better options at half the cost. Needless to say, I won't be buying this again.

a cloudy honey colored pour with a finger of head (which quickly diminished). scents of lemongrass, sour notes, bready. a slightly tart, sweet bready malt with a hint of citrus. sweeter than most wheat beers. medium body with low carbonation and is surprisingly refreshing. a nice surprise. wasn't expecting much from this one but it was really nice and sweet for the style.
