A: Pours a clear amberish orange with a thin (1/8th inch) white head leaving rings of lace as the level drops in the glass.
N: Big citrus fruit punch up front with some pine notes.
T: Grapefruit and citrus hops combine with a malty sweetness followed by a resiny pine umph.
M: Medium body and carbonation. Sticky and resiny. Bitter and fully drying finish.
O: Balance leans towards the malt. Slighty higher ABV than the Pope makes this one a finisher. Glad to have finally tried this.

A - Beautiful golden color. The head is a creamy white, however, it does dissipate rather quickly
S - Has a strong piney, hoppy smell with a very subtly cirtus, perhaps lemon, grapefruit. It reminds me of the smell of Arrogant Bastard.
T - Very delicious. Strong hop character and presence, however, it isn't overwhelming. Very much to style.
M - A good balance, not too carbonated, yet bold. It is on the heavier side.
O - I really enjoyed this beer, and I plan to purchase a growler in the very near future. The brewer was undoubtedly inspired by Stone DIPAs as this beer is made in the image of such beers. I would highly recommend this beer. My only complaint is the head was slightly lackluster. It dissipated too rapidly and there was almost no lacing. The serving temperature was perfect, indicating the brewery and servers are on top of their beer know-how!

On-tap at Hollister Brewing
The beer is a clear orange color with white foam. Definitely some citrus aroma to it, particularly grapefruit aromas. There's a little bit of pine and maybe some bread, too. The flavor is nicely balanced (and that isn't a pejorative). Good grapefruit and pine with a soft sweetness of bread and caramel. Moderately bitter, too.

On Tap at the Brewpub
Notes from visit – 12/27/11
*served in Nonic glass
A: Hippie Kicker pours a light caramel color with nice clarity and a perfect fat finger of pure white head. Looks awesome in the Nonic.
S: Smells pretty damn danky and floral with bright tropicals and a sweet caramelized hemp seed aroma. Really liking this one.
T: Taste is a nice caramel malt sweet base that starts with aggressive mango and citrus and segways to hemp and pine hop flavors. More to my liking. This is pretty damn good with some intense bittering and reminding me a lot like Pizza Port’s Wipeout. A nice hop charge with bit more of a malt balance to it.
M: Medium bodied to possibly full IPA. Sticky sweet resinous mouthcoat. Lighter and dry in finish.
D: Nice caramel sweet malt base carries a danky hop attack here. Creeper with the nice balance and higher ABV’s.
My favorite of the day and again tasting a lot like Wipeout to me which is a good thing.

Thanks to my sister in law, Michelle, for this growler of great beer. Appearance is about average for an IPA, not much carbonation, but that could be due to the transport.
Smell- grapefruit/caramel/peppermint?
Taste- awesome! Really follows the nose, just like a good IPA should. Reminds me of Union Jack, just a tad lighter though.
Lacing on the glass is like those fake spider webs on stucco, excellent!
Mouthfeel- average, but the rest of the beer makes up for that.
Very drinkable and highly recommended if you like IPAs that aren't all that bitter...

On tap at Toronado.
A: Burnished yellow with a finger of white froth. Good retention and scattered lacking.
S: Mango, passion fruit, orange, tangerine, and grapefruit, the hops are bright and expressive. Malt is faint and crackery. Really good.
T: Light sweetness quickly transforms to dry stone fruit and tropical notes, reminiscent of peach, pineapple, grapefruit, and orange. Malt imparts faint bread characteristics.
M: Medium body with upper medium carbonation. Mouthfeel is dry and sticky.
Overall: Another nice IPA from Hollister. Highly drinkable with great hop character.
