Poured a rich honey-amber into a pint glass with a finger of soapy white head. Relatively mild aroma of citrus and pine.

Very smooth mouthfeel and low carbonation due to the cask. Extremely tasty with a nice caramel/toffee sweetness balanced by some really juicy citrus and just the right amount of pine sting on the finish.

For the style, quite light and extremely well-balanced. Really enjoyed this one.

Purchased at BevMo. Deep amber in color. Nice frothy white head that leaves nice lacing behind. Very good aromas of fresh grass and malt. Taste is on the bitter end a bit. Very earthy mowed grass notes. Body is well carbonated with an almost double feel. Overall this is a respectable offering. Only complaint is that a touch more sweetness would have balanced this out more. I do mean a touch.

Bought at Total Wine in Claymont DE, random pickup since it was $5, figured for a bomber it was worth a shot.

Poured into a tulip glass.
Relatively rapid pour delivered about 1 inch head that lingered throughout the drinking.
Immediate sweet notes of citrus smell, some mild pine. Hazy copper brown.

While this does have the characteristic hops of a DIPA, it was a bit sweeter that I would've liked. Grapefruit, pear, but overall notes of intense hops are lackluster. Dry malt.

Medium bodied, balanced carbonation in the mouthfeel.

Overall it's not a bad DIPA especially at that price point but I it's not the best I've had.

Poured into a glass

Appearance - poured a light orangish red. 2 fingers of fine white cream colored foam. It sticks to the glass with descent lacing.

Smell- slight carmel vanilla and lavender. a light roasted coffee even. Odd for an IPA to not be so floral, and to even smell like this.

Taste- citrus some pine with a buttery roasted nuttiness. And a long Hoppy finish. It's funny it didn't seem very hop forward for an IPA. An unconventional one-two punch for the style IMO, but I like it.

Mouthfeel- not slick, no alcohol warmth. It's a tad dry, with a lingering finish.

Overall- It's a descent IPA offering, unique with its toffee nutty flavors. It has good lacing. I wouldn't say that it is out of balance but there are definitely two different tastes co-exhisting (not battling for supremacy) in the beer. I also think that the alcohol could sneak up on you in this one. I would order another ... but maybe stop after the two.

A: Ice-tea coloring with some rustic orange highlights. Medium clarity with a light whisper of carbonation. The head is bready and frumpy in texture, a beige coloring and shows a good resilience along with an ample amount of lace coverage consisting of stratified rings.

S: Spicy citrusy-pineapple, much more pronounced then thier ipa. A bit of mango, orange and toasted bread. Good presence upon first pour but does significantly drop off there-after lacking sustainability.

T: Spicy bite of hops, bright tropical fruitiness of pineapple-mango mixing with citrus. Spicy, crisp and clean turning to a bittering of dry hopped citrus mid way through the experience. The finale turns dry toasted bread, very malty with a pine and dry grapefruit ending. Moderate alcohol presence.

M: Medium body, creamy, bitter, very similar to thier base ipa with a bittering finish.

O: A bit bigger and hoppier then thier ipa thus drinkability and repeatability is a bit lower. Thier ipa is ideal for multiples is a bit lighter and crisper, while this is a bit fuller malt wise with a bump of dry hops. Both are ideal for the right occassion.

Pours a typical IPA colour. The smell was pretty hop-potent, had me ready for a hop bomb. Alas, it was not to be. The hop flavour is mild, dominated by fruit of the tropical variety, mostly mango. A little pineapple-melon-grapefruit melange as well, but very soft and mild. The thing that I found the most disappointing was the finish. It didn't linger at all, it wasn't dry, it wasn't anything: there was just nothing there. For an Imperial/Double IPA that is just unacceptable in my opinion. The impression I was left with was that it sacrificed flavour for drinkability, which is fine, except that they scaled it back too far. At some point when you scale it back it ceases to be an IPA (never mind an 2xIPA), and unfortunately thats what I believe happened here. I want to clarify that there isn't any particular flavour I disliked, I just didn't think it stayed even remotely close to the style, which is why it will get a poor score from me.

22 oz bottle, no date.

appears a dark golden color, clear. big tall rocky off-white head. great retention. sort off-putting aroma - very lemon, like dish soap.
nice balance of biscuit malt and earthy lemony hops. but the nose overpowers the taste. medium thickness and medium carbonation.

overall - the bad aroma takes over the positives of this beer. I wouldn't try again

Poured from a 650ml bottle. Something of a distinctive Double India Pale Ale, this actually pours a yellowish-brown colour. Not a typical NW hop bomb as far as the nose goes. There's more in the way of sweet malt notes, but you can still find a touch of fruity hop scents in there as well. Similar on the palate--a lot of sweetness balanced with grassy, herbal hops and a massive finishing bitterness.

Large fruity flavor mixed with the hop cone extravaganza. Flavors all muddled up and xxx. Lots of grapefruit but with a sweet mango taste. Quite bitter and it keeps stabbing the back of the tongue. Some of the biscuit taste, well browned and more bitterness. Aromatic with fruit and flowers.

More of a golden amber than the usual DIPA orange. Modest mustache of foam. Fairly thick bodied and seems tro be oilier than most. Resins, aromatic hops, and quinine. Hot and spicy on the lips. Not my idea of drinkable, but those seeking the dominatrix may find her here.

From the 22 oz bottle bought in Orange County somewhere. I'm not quite sure about this brewery but they seem to be putting out a lot of stuff.

22 oz. bomber,

A: Pours a deep burnt amber with a medium white head, no lace.

S: Lots of pine, cedar and white grapefruit, classic NW hops.

T: Pine heavy with grapefruit and orange. Lots of hop character with some nice crystal malt flavour.

M: Medium to full-bodied. Oily and very resiny, intense.

O: A very good, but very northwest DIPA. I liked it quite a bit.

Ordered from LetsPour and poured into a Pike pint glass.

Appearance - The bottle art of this double turned me on, but I was disappointed as soon as the liquid hit the glass. A watery sewer/caramel appearance. Light carbonation with decent lacing. The head disappears quickly and is extremely white.

Smell - Extremely faint. Does not smell fresh at all - I wish the bottle had a date on it. Very faint toffee.

Taste - Fairly rotten. It gets a little better as my palate adjusts. Rye is the most prominent flavor, while dying grass and a bit of beets and alcohol kick in later. Faint caramel and toffee that does combine well with the sad excuse for hops

Mouthfeel and Drinkability - Light-bodied with a sewery alcohol taste that is unbalanced. It's hard to get through this glass honestly. The whole thing tastes extremely rotten, like I am drinking very dirty well water. This beer was a HUGE letdown for me. The taste is just bland. It is not sweet, nor is it bitter. It isn't thick like honey, nor is it terribly watery. I don't know what this is.

22oz into a pint - funny I had to go to Florida to get a beer from Washington.

A - Pours a clear, golden brown color. Head is strong, pearly white, about 2mm thick, sticks around for a while.

S - Leads with a strong malt nose, of nuts, and perhaps a little bit of chocolate. May be a decent rye base here.

T - Starts off malty, a bit edgy, again demonstrating some rye characteristics. Some chocolate malts. Mid-stream brings on a hefty citrus hop note, very thick - almost oily. Finishes with a strong bitter bite.

M - Moderate beer body, moderate carbonation. Comes off a bit thick, sometimes creamy. The alcohol doesn't come through much. A sticky finish.

O/D - A solid IPA, almost more of a rye IPA I would wager. A little on the sweeter side, perhaps unattenuated. Rather enjoyable balance of flavors. Worth a shot.

Picked up in Ponderay, Idaho. From a 22 oz. brown bomber. Pours out a clear copper hue, with a short loose creamy off-white head.

Dry biscuity malt with a bit of toastiness, sweet orange and peach esters, dry citrus hops.

Tastes to me like some Amarillo hops are doing some legwork in the flavour, right off the top. Dry toasty, biscuity malt officially steps in up front, followed by floral and herbal hops, and finishing with sweet orange citrus hops, and a surprising appearance of some bready, caramel malt. Big win for balance throughout. Aftertaste is dry citrus pith, astringent but clean.

Medium-light mouthfeel, smooth and clean texture, with moderate texture.

Not amazing but still really good, not to downplay its merits, this still delivers the goods. Balanced and rounded, it nearly flies under the radar of the style, but in a tasteful way, a great gateway beer for the style, I know I want more.

A - Pours a hazy dark amber color. Very little head, hardly a lacing on the glass.

S - Honey, fresh flowers, sourdough bread, pine hops, and spices. I like this interesting blend of aromas.

T - Starts with sweet tangerine and toffee. Some sticky pine hops follow. Leaves a bittersweet aftertaste.

M - Carbonation is smooth and the finish is dry. Medium thickness.

O - I snagged this randomly off a the shelf at Total Wine. It is pretty good, not great, but the low price ($5/bomber) makes it worthy.

One Pint 6 FL OZs...Poured into a Tulip glass.

A: Clear brassy hue…Leaves behind some fluffy rings of lacing.

S: Strong hops, Mint, marmalade, faint caramel, ripe pear, Orange citrus, lemon juice, light florals and grass.

T: Very smooth, deep crispness, hop bitterness… Upfront there is pineapple… lemon juice followed by leafy, dried grass, lightly toasted bread, clean caramel notes mid-palate. Finishes with pine and grassy floral…drying finishes…with lingering alcohol due to the close to 8%...

M: Pretty much a full bodied, 'BIG' beer, juicy, crisp and bitter.

O: Very clean, Very drinkable.Just an outstanding Double American IPA all around… pretty much nailed it with this one! Although...take the 'very drinkable' comments with warning... if you have more than 2-3 of these, you 'could-be' in TROUBLE...Drink with care as after just one bomber, it gets you in the 'woo-woo!!'...Chasin'-Cheers :~)

A clear golden orange beer fills the tulip, making a medium sized off white head with tons of lacing, but quickly dissipates.

Smell is earthy, with warm malts, and a bit of flowery hop underneath.

Taste starts out with an earthy hop bitterness, with floral tones as well. A bit of malt in the middle, and finished with a big pithy bitterness.

Beer has a bit of a thin feel. At only 7.9%, it barely makes it to the DIPA/IIPA category, and the texture shows it.

Nothing special here, the big bitterness in the flavor rescues this from a truly bad review, but that's about all it has going for it.

Poured into a Black Raven pint glass. Pours a clear coppery amber. Half finger off-white head with moderate retention and lacing. Aroma of grassy hops, pineapple, light bready malt and citrus. Taste is moderate hops, light bready malt and citrus. Finish is grapefruit citrus. Flavors somewhat subdued, but well integrated. Pleasant, but could use some more distinct hops. Since the hops are not too forward, the malt / hop balance is pretty good. Medium bodied with some creaminess. A satisfactory tasty IPA that needs a little extra hop intensity.

To keep this review short and sweet, this is a very intense beer but for the wrong reasons.

Ap: beautiful dark caramel maple syrup copper brown with a modest lacing and tiny bit of head.

Ar: the hops resonate and tickle your nose. Very refreshing earthy hop. Just teases you and invites you to taste.

Ta: here is where it gets weird. The hops are very potent. A very rich earthy piney hop but it is equally matched with a very bitter flavor that is unnecessarily masked by a strong presence of malt. The malt overtakes the hops and makes the beer a little unpleasant. It still tastes good but requires a little more conservative approach when sipping. The malt is a little too rich.

Mf: very mildly carbonated but not very refreshing. It doesn't satisfy or have a nice bite. Felt like a Sam Adams Boston Lager. Thin and somewhat watery. Strange for double IPA.

Ov: delicious but the malt is a little much. The hops are strong and very convincing. It isn't an overly entertaining beer as you sip it which is disappointing. It required that I sip it slowly and endured a rather painful malt presence. A little much if not acquainted with IPAs or double IPAs. The malt just made the beer difficult to enjoy. There is definitely better representations that allow the hops to dominate and let the malt tickle but not tackle your senses. Cheers!

Bomber. Pours with an average off-white head over a clear light amber body. Very good head retention, and foamy lacing. Massive aroma of mango, exotic fruits, pine, marshmallow and caramel. Taste is light caramel, honey, peach, spicy and earthy hops. Very bitter aftertaste. I would have bet the IBUs were higher than the advertised 75! Full-bodied and sticky like a double. Medium-light carbonation. A very pleasant IPA. I will keep an eye on other offerings from this brewery.

Poured from a 22 oz. bomber into a pint glass.

S - Pine and grapefruit hops. Caramel malt sweetness. A hint of booze.

A - Clear, light amber with a quarter inch off-white head. Delicate, sticky lacing.

T - A peppery, spicy bitterness upfront. Bitterness gives way to an impressive pine and spicy hop flavor. Ever-present sugary, candy/caramel-like malt sweetness. Lingering bitterness and sweet finish. A welcome, hefty dose of alcohol on the end.

M - Moderate carbonation. Medium body. Alcohol warming. Sticky mouthfeel from the sugars.

O - Not knowing what to expect, I was very impressed by this beer. Strong bitterness, flavor and malts but well-balanced throughout with a perfect amount of alcohol warming. A very satisfying beer for both the hop and malt lover. Recommend.

Pours a hazy copper into a Snifter glass, with a foamy 2 inch head that fades into a 1 inch lacing that last till the end.
Grass and pine on the nose, citrus hops, some sweetness also.
Wonderful warmth in the palate, hops present, but not overwhelming. Chewy palate, again some sweetness, citrusy, medicinal flavor. Alcohol makes it's presence with the 7.9% ABV.
A very decent Imperial IPA, worth a try.
Recommended.

22 picked up last night at Brewforia.. paid about $6 ... Poured into my little Cigar City snifter... short lasting off white head still provides nice lacing as the clear light amber brew drops.

Nose has a pretty mild hop profile... a restrained citrus zest but is bullied out of the way by too much malt... plenty of pale malt and more than a hint of dry toast.

Flavor is more "bitter" from front to back than ever just focusing on the hops... there is the above mentioned citrus note... but between the heavy handed malt and bitter bite, the hops seem to play second fiddle.

Body is about right.. carbonation too.. pretty "creamy", and that adjective seems out of place too.

Okay.... but only okay... I doubt I would ever buy this again unless I was bellying up to the bar at the brewery.

Bomber from The Local Bottlestore & Provisions, poured into a Brooklyn tulip.

Hazy orange appearance, with a slow forming head of beige-orange foam. Retention wasn't great. Beer looks bright in a sense.

Smell has a lot of grapefruit there, mixed in with a touch of pine. Decent aroma that is not over the top.

Taste is consistent with grapefruit throughout. A little one dimensional as only a little bit of pine can be detected and it is late.

Mouthfeel is quite good. The consistency of flavour combines with consistent bitterness to keep it drinkable, yet still let's you know its a big IPA.

Solid IPA, could be accused of being a one trick pony, but it is pretty good and consistent.

Poured into a Cigar City Snifter. When I opened it, foam began pouring out of the bottle and I had to run and put it over a trash can. Should've guessed that could happen, since I tried their regular IPA and it had lots of foam but didn't overflow like this one. No freshness date.

A- Pours a slightly hazy dark amber with a 1/4 inch head that lowers to a white ring and a near-symmetrical foam pattern on the surface. Not very much lacing.

S- Smells strong, full and citric. Definite grapefruit, fumy alcohol and just a tad of funk.

T- Bitter with plenty of malt backbone. The citrus in the aroma isn't as pronounced in the flavor. Still some grapefruit and has a crisp finish but not much else. There are plenty of hops to match the amount of malt but they clash some, making it not as enjoyable as it could be. Slight metallic taste. Not bad, but not great.

M- Decent medium carbonation with the usual prickly mouthfeel of a solid IPA.

O- I liked their regular IPA better. This one is just trying too hard.

A-Hazy copper orange hue which leaves a two finger dense,creamy dimple laden head.

S-Piney resinous hops,boiled candy,oat biscuts and peaches.

T-Piney resinous hops,grapefruit,boiled candy,nectarines and finished with a very piney hop bitterness.

M-Medium bodied and a touch sticky.

O-A tasty DIPA thats nice and drinkable but have had better cheers.
