I had this beer on-tap in a pint glass at the brewery.
Appearance: cloudy brown hue with a finger if creamy tan foam. Nice.
Smell: lightly toasty with a dash of sweetness. Nicely done.
Taste: nutty, toasty and just a little sweet. Bitterness is good for the style. This beer really works for me!
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and a decent creaminess.
Overall: a satisfying brown ale, and quite drinkable at 4.2%. I like it.

Poured a dark, nutty brown with a slick of off-white head. Aroma of toffee, mild cocoa, and a touch of cinnamon.
Moderate carbonation and a very light mouthfeel. Cocoa and toffee up front with hints of dark fruit and a slightly bitter roasted coffee finish.
This brew seems to be 2/3 brown ale (up front) and 1/3 porter (on the finish). Drinks very light, but there are some nice flavors going on for such a mild brew.

Served in bubble pint glass. Poured a clear medium-dark brown with a low head that had a low level of retention but some OK lacing.
The aroma is dominantly malt and grain, as expected for the style, and was even and smoothly benign. On the tongue, the beer was also mostly malt and grain with, for a style that runs to the sweet side, a clean, dry finish.
The body was good, full, smooth and even, fairly typical for the style. Drinkability was very good, I could easily have a few of these while watching the weather out the window.
Overall, another nice beer from Skookum, worth trying when you see it.

Great name, huh? The beer is most certainly brown - nearly opaque - but thankfully, I found nothing hairy in it. B&H is actually quite subdued with modest flavor and a watery aroma, leaving little to latch onto one way or another. It is clean with generic malt and bitter minimalism and reminds me of a thin stout. A simple session beer with ample suds and restrained expression.
