Right on the money doppelbock, malty and mildly sweet. Dark amber/brown body, aroma is sweet malt, molasses. Nice creamy head. Taste is also mostly malt, more subdued than the aroma, but right on target for the style.

22oz bottle.
Pours a clear reddish-brown with golden highlights. One finger of sticky, bubbly, off-white head.
Bready, doughy, burnt-sugar sweetness (bordering on maple even? mmm), some dark fruit, faint bittersweet chocolate. Light spiciness alongside herbal hops in the finish cut the richness with just enough bitter and freshness to keep you wanting another sip.
Medium bodied, relatively low carbonation, maybe just a touch of warming alcohol.
Loved it! Wish it was something I had regular access to.

L: Pours brilliant ruby tinted chestnut under a clingy 1” light tan head.
S: A hint of tobacco that transforms into earthy aromas joins bread, prune, and plum on the nose.
T: Brown bread, dark kettle sugars, big malt character, light earthy bitterness on the finish.
F: Very smooth, creamy and soft in the mouth with above average body and slightly below average carbonation.
O: A big but easy to drink doppelbock.

Aroma definitely gets your attention - strong and malty with a caramel overtone and notes of spice and chocolate plus an earthy hint. Pours a translucent chocolate brown, close to mahogany, with a thick and fairly persistent tan head that leaves some generous lacing. Flavor does not quite equal the promise of the aroma, but is still quite good - malty, bready, subtle notes of caramel, cloves and chocolate. Smooth texture has good body and fizz, and leaves a malty, woody, slightly chocolaty finish. Get this goat!
