I sampled this one a little while back at the Rackhouse. Poured a nice opaque black color, with some good tan head floating on top. Aromas of chocolate, oak, roasted malt and coffee. On the palate, I get more chocolate, both milk and dark, along with vanilla and cocoa powder.

On cask at Rackhouse Pub, wasn't sure if this was just chocolate yeti in a cask but after tasting I realized it was different, no chili. Appearance is the same as all other Yeti variations, black and of course very little head on my glass. Smell was cocoa powder. Taste was more cocoa powder, chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa. Did I mention it seemed heavy on cocoa? Maybe they used nibs in the cask or something?

I also am not sure if this is the chocolate cayanne version, but they called it cocoa yeti as well, so i'm assuming it is different.

A: Jet black, viscous, leaves a boozy lacing on the snifter. Light can barely penetrate this tar in a glass.

S: Charr, espresso, some booze, plenty of chocolate, both sweet and bitter. Not as hoppy as regular yeti, and not as vanilla as any of the oak aged-versions. Not a huge aroma but more and more as it warms.

T: Chocolate and charr again, some espresso but it is not overly dry or bitter. Very well balanced and still drinkable for a beast. Has a range of malt flavors but is not overly sweet, bready, or any one characteristic. This beer has plenty of complexity.

M: Thick and chewy, definitely lends to sipping and pondering. Finishes bitter enough and is well attenuated. Keeps you coming back for more and more. A great winter, cold weather beer, but is still enjoyable year round.

O: I am really happy to find this one around town, and it was even 3 bucks during happy hour for a 10 oz pour. Pretty awesome. I'll drink this til it's gone. I love all versions of yeti and this one did not disappoint.
