A - Pours a pale yellow, very light straw color. Body is cloudy with very little carbonation springing up. Builds a 1.5-fingered head that disappears in minutes. The lacing is absolutely plastered to the glass, really impressed with how it holds up.
S - The smell really caught me off guard with this. Rather than getting a really bready, thick Belgian yeast smell, I get huge noses of grapes and apples. Very fruity which mixes incredibly well with the floral, citrus aroma of the hops. Smells similar to a dry, white wine.
T - Unfortunately, the balance of all of these different influences becomes a bit muddled within the taste. The contrast between the fruit (apples, grapes, lemons), peppery spice, and bitter hops isn't well defined and as such you sort of get all of them competing against each other to be the forefront rather than flowing nicely together. Finish is long and bitter.
M - Mouthfeel is medium with low carbonation. One thing I feel could benefit this beer more is for it to be more crisp and bubbly. It seems a bit flat the way it is now which doesn't help the muddled flavors and keeps the finish from being clean.
D - Drinkability is moderate to high. It drinks quickly and easily, but the lack of carbonation and non-distinct flavors really keeps it from standing out. Hides the alcohol reasonably well.

Big disapointment!! Stone cali-belgo is lightyears ahead of this! Average in every aspect and I think great divide is an excellent brewery but they missed on this one. !... i guess thats why they no longer make this one. Just trying to get to 250 characters at this point.

Poured from bottle to pint glass the beer pours a hazy and opaque yellow golden color with a huge 2.5 finger white head, good retention and lacing, looks good. The aroma starts off with a strong belgian yeast along with fruity character: citrus, pears, apples along with clove and hints of bubblegum and pepper. However the alcohol emerges and starts to dominate and thus makes the beer less approachable. The flavor follows suit with an initial rush of belgian clove and bubblegum. Hints of fruit found in the nose as well as a more pronounced pepper flavor. The malt doesn't seem to work with these flavors and doesn't come across balanced, like the flavors are fighting one another and not in a pleasant fashion. Medium bitterness. Alcohol again emerges at the end and as the beer warms. Turn off. Fairly smooth and lighter side of medium bodied. Good carbonation. Overall, I was less than impressed with this beer. Too boozy, flavor doesn't mesh well. Won't return.
