A: Motor-oil black. Pours completely opaque, and produces a thick dark-tan head that dissipates quickly and leaves moderate lacing.

S: More alcohol and oak than I anticipated. Good coffee and chocolate in the background, but overwhelmed by the oak.

T: Less oak than in the nose. Starts out with good caramel and burnt flavors, transitions into the coffee and chocolate notes in the nose. Definite oak throughout, but not as dominant as the smell would lead you to believe. Sharp hop bitterness in the finish that lingers.

M: Thick, fully-coating, and heavy. This is a stout that lets you know that it's there. Decent carbonation for how thick it is.

O: Would try it again, but not my favorite Imperial Stout. As my wife put it, "I'm overwhelmed!" It's a big, big stout.

Had side by side with the Oak Aged Chocolate

A-Black in the glass, two finger brown head that tries to leave some lacing behind.

S-Oak, chocolate, lots of roasted malt, some of which was burnt (the good burnt)

T- Very oaky, lots of roasted malt, some burnt (still good), chocolate, vanilla, tad coffee and licorice.

M-Medium bodied, nicely carbonated and a tad creamy.

O-A solid beer. Cheaper than most BA beers, with better availability. Not as great, but still a yummy beer.
