A-Pours almost completely opaque. There are flashes of deep brown, but on the whole it is a thick sludgy black. This stout does not mess around. The head is sizeably bigger than a number of other stouts leaving about two fingers of swampy milk chocolate chocolate. Little to no lacing, which surprised me due to the viscosity of the brew.
S-very rich, dense and complex. Chocolate is immediately noticeable, but a darker blend of chocolates (which causes the chocolate yeti's flavors to not meld as well because the overtones are that of a lighter chocolate) . The smoked malts are beautiful with hints of coffee, toffee, and a touch of sweet molasses are there. The nose finishes with the burnt malts which give off a dense smokey flavor, that at times can be overpowering.
M-Very creamy, downright brutish. It drinks as it looks, thick filling and full of flavor and viscosity.
T-All of the flavors aforementioned in the nose are there in abundance. Most impressively, long after your first sip, you can feel the flavors continuing to develop on your palate, making it an overtly pleasurable experience. As with the nose however, the taste finishes strongly of smoke which is pleasurable at first, but can be a bit too much to handle towards the end of the pint...or two or three
O-An outstanding stout and deserves to be savored. Not all notes hit with me, but most did and for those I couldn't be happier

Really great RIS. Lots of great stuff going on here. There's plenty of chocolate, toffee and sweet milk notes, as well as notes of port wine and leather. Great mouthfeel, nice and smooth while still having a small bite at the end (for an RIS). I actually almost prefer this more than the Espresso Oak aged version which I tried side by side with this for the first time. This really is an awesome beer, but not my favorite of the style. It's really good, but it didn't WOW me (I was expecting it to be good anyway.) Due to the fact that it's impossible to get in my area I probably wont be going out of my way to seek this out again seeing as though there are just so many other things I want to try out there. All in all good beer though.
