Nice place, had a neighborhood feel to it, more than a touristy feel. A little off the beaten path in Newport, so that could account for it. Small, bar runs down left side, with some seating in front, down the right and in back.
Quality was fine. I had 3 beers and there was nothing to complain about any of them.
Service was prompt, no complaints. Asked for a suggestion, and was pointed to the Newport Storm Summer. Gotta like a place that supports their locals.
Selection was pretty good, about a dozen or so taps, and not a stinker among them. Half a dozen or so large bottles were also available if the taps didn't do it for you. I enjoyed the Newport, a Cisco Pale, and a Stone IPA just to get my hop fix.
I didn't try the food, but the couple next to me at the bar had dinner, and it both looked and smelled great. Their plates were pretty clean when they were done, if that is any indication...
I enjoyed hanging out at this place for a couple of hours. Very cool and comfortable. Next time I'm in Newport, I'll be back and try the food as well.

great place, had some weihenstephaner hef, ciscos whales tale, a southern tier ipa, stone ipa, a smuttynose porter, an oatmeal stout that was great (but by then dont ask me to remember) a few more.. all on tap for $4 a pint, what else do you need? there were more beers on tap, more in bottle including some big bottles of begians and yeti stouts ... if you are stuck in newport touring old mansions at 15 bucks a pop this is where you go after.. service was good, she kept bringing beer... a drunk insisted on shaking my hand and blessing me but that kind of thing doesn't really bother me at all, its the sitting down with me where i begin to get annoyed.. the food smelled good

A nice atmosphere with great selection of draft beers at $4 per pint. They also had a few "big bottles" for $10-12 each (Chimay, Duvel, Great Divide Hercules IPA, etc.). When I was there, their Great Divide Titan IPA tap had just kicked; no worries, it was promptly replaced with Southern Tier IPA to go with their Porter. I didn't sample the food, but the gentleman who sat next to me, who works at another local beer bar/restaurant said it was fantastic and a great value. Good tunes kept coming from the jukebox.

I decided to come he for the first time after doing the Newport Storm Brewery tour and I'm glad I did. With 12 draft beers to choose from and a $8.00 beer and burger special, It didn't take long to feel comfortable. The draft selection included three beers from Cisco Brewing, two from Oskar Blues, and or corse the local Newport Storm brewery. After drinking a few Dale's Pale Ale and a bottle of Chimay with the right glasswear it was time to drive home and plane another time to come. I definitly recommend coming here for anyone who wants to enjoy great beer and a nice atmosphere.

I came here for one reason only...Oskar Blues Ted Fidy Imperial Stout...and I was not disappointed. $5 for a 12 oz. glass is a great value, as well as $4 pints...Whale's Tale Pale Ale, Dale's Pale Ale, Dogfish, Great Divide, Thomas Hooker, blue point and hazed and infused.
The food was great...we just had appetizers and the prices are reasonable. The only downside is that its a bit of walk, and if you're driving, don't drink the Ten Fidy. This is certainly a good beer bar so one BA's should support.

This is a great bar. If you enjoy a traditional pub atmosphere, this is a must visit. The people and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The bartender enjoyed serving us as much as we enjoyed the beverages. The food is great (try the clams) and affordable. The beer selection is very nice and offers numerous ales, including many IPA's, both locally brewed and abroad. I wish we would have spent more time here, I get the impression this place plays some great music and patrons are welcoming. This is a great place to spend a casual evening in a fun atmosphere in Newport!

Great atmosphere and service. Food was excellent and the beer selection is impressive. They have got a great beer on tap selection that includes many of my favorites- such as Hazed and Infused. The menu has a lot to offer, including a tasty crab dip app. that we tried. For my meal I chose a special they have every day- a burger, fries and a beer for seven dollars. I chose to upgrade to a specialty beer for one dollar more,(Whales Tale Pale Ale). I was able to relax with my buddies and enjoy some great food in an awesome setting. I will be going back.
