Appearance: Clear amber, good head.
Smell: Nice pumpkin pie smell.
Taste: Follows along the smell, pumpkin pie, cinnamon, nutmeg, hint of clove. Light mouthfeel.
Drinkability: I'm usually not a fan of pumpkin beers, but I could have a few of these.
Supporting the local brewery by trying a style I don't normally have, Mummy Train surprised me pleasantly. Nice pumpkin pie smell and flavor without going overboard on the spices. Nicely sweet without going too far, and good spiced flavor. Good stuff.

Had on tap at the Groveland Tap in St. Paul, MN. Served in a British style tulip pint glass.
Appearance: Bright amber orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. About three fingers of off white head with decent retention. Lots of sticky lacing.
Smell: Strong aroma of cinnamon spices up front with nutmeg and pumpkin pie. Hints of bready caramel malts, apple, and earthy hops. Smell is very spicy and moderately sweet.
Taste: Like the smell, lots of spicy cinnamon and nutmeg up front. Solid body of pumpkin pie flavor with hints of caramel malts, toffee, and apple. Hop presence is very light. Fairly spicy and sweet while still being well balanced.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. Very smooth. Spices leave a nice lingering aftertaste in the mouth.
Overall: A very solid spiced pumpkin beer. Full flavored and pretty easy drinking.

On tap at Ngon Vietnamese in St. Paul and served in a tulip. Can't say I'm a fan, the beer is too thin for the spices and comes off to perfumey and like an overpowered scented candle. The cinnamon and nutmeg are just too much. The mellow and subtle pumpkin flavor is actually really nice and complex, but the spicing levels are too much. Also, the flavor reminds me oddly enough of apple cinnamon cider, that can't be good for a pumpkin beer.
UPDATE 11/24/10: Tried this again at Stub & Herb's and found it to be a pleasantly drinkable pumkin beer. It was relatively thin, but not too thin. There was a big pumpkin pie flavor with a good hit of cinnamon.

had on tap at burger jones it appeared a light amber color with a thin head ..the smell was bananas pumpkin pie cinnamon and nutmeg..the taste was the same it was a light thin ale with cinnamon and pumpkin bread taste at first then some banana bread a little nutmeg.. the mouth feel is medium to thin this could be more robust and would be more enjoyable if like a brown ale.. .imo ... however i found it easy drinking and quite enjoyable

Hazy orange coloration, slim head.
Aroma: all pumpkin spices, cinnamon, nutmeg, a little of clove. Mmmm.
More spice once in the mouth. Medium bodied, high carbonation, spritzy and spicy. Long, lingering finish in the mouth.
Easy drinkability, refreshing, not too big, not too boisterous. A sessionable pumpkin ale.

A rich brown pumpkin ale with a hint of caramel. Pours smooth with a minimal topper. Smells very strong of pumpkin aroma, but has a nice finish. not the best of the pumpkin ales that I have had but one of the better for the end of the season.
Catchy name and worth buying again if you are in the mid-west, I wasnt able to get this from the East Coast.

Pours an orangish rusty color with a small head on it. The nose has faint spice spiraling out the glass (especially cloves) with a touch of pumpkin malts. The taste is watery upfront, which moves to some earthy pumpkin flavors with some more wateriness. Mouth is medium bodied and smooth. Overall, this one is a miss - pretty watery without much taste on the palate of which to speak. I was wanting to try this for a while and was excited to find out my buddy obtained a bottle, but not worth tracking down...

Thanks to Rob for sharing.
Here is a Pumpkin Ale and it's the right time of year and one of my favorite styles of beer. Smells of cinnamon and nutmeg, a bit of squash. Taste is immediately overshadowed by the extremely watery mouthfeel. This has some promising flavor..cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, pumpkin squash..it's there, but it's akin to drinking a glass of water that somebody's gone and added cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice. Bad. Alas, too bad. It's also not sweet enough to hold up the spices properly and there needs to be more buttery malt. Here's yet another mediocre or less beer from Flat Earth.

Heard good things about this and this is the first and only beer I've had from Flat Earth Brewing Company.
A - Relatively dark amber color. No carbonation, not much head, and zero lacing.
S - It smells closer to actual pumpkin pie to any beer I've had before, and to me pumpkin pie smells heavenly. Glorious smell.
T - Taste continues on the pumpkin pie train. It's focuses more on pumpkin pie spices than on actual pumpkin. Great execution in the taste department. Even the aftertaste left me feeling like I had pumpkin pie. This would be something I classify as a desert beer.
M - I'd agree with others saying it tastes a bit too watery and light. No bitterness to this and was easy drinking all the way through.
O - The words that came out of my were "f'n awesome." This was more out of shock because I had no idea what to expect to from Flat Earth. Easily one of the better pumpkin beers I've had, and probably the one that hits the pumpkin pie flavor on the head better than any I have had. Smell was remarkable. It does look and feel kind of cheap. When I have something like Pumking I feel like more TLC went into it. It's definitely something I would pick up again though, and I now feel inclined to give more Flat Earth beers a go.

Appearance - Brown/Amber/Copper color. Looks a lot like the color of an old penny.
Smell - Smells great. Much like pumpkin pie as expected.
Taste - Sweet with cinnnamon and nutmeg. Quite unsatisfying compared to what I expected from the smell. This tates like a chai latte or chai tea
Mouthfeel - Light and watery. Very disappointing.
Overall - Looks good, smells good, and is a total let down. One of my least favorite pumpkin beers that I've tried this fall. Right along with Sam Adams Harvest Pumpkin.

Amber-brown color very clear
a very spicy smell. clove, nutmeg, ginger, and cinnamon. Almost pumpkin pie but really just the spices.
Taste like Pumpkin and cinnamon mixed in with ginger and nutmeg but very light. Not strong at all.
light body and very smooth goes down very easy
Over All this is what I would call a lite pumpkin ale if such a thing was made. I can drink it but I would not go out and get it

Poured a light copper color color, and produced a 2 finger beige head. It disapated quickly.
The smell was of pumpkin pie. Yum!
The taste was similar , but not as much of the pumpkin pie taste came through. It had a slight sour finish. Light mouth-feel, an high-ish carbonation.
The smell was great the taste that followed was a little bit of a let down.

22 oz. bottle poured into a shaker pint.
Appearance-Amber-brown color with decent clarity. Dense, creamy, pale beige head has decent retention.
Aroma-Very spicy up front with clove, nutmeg, ginger, and cinnamon all in the forefront-somewhat reminiscent of mulling spices. Light squashy/faintly nutty aroma in the background. Has an overall sort of holiday spice cake aroma, with slight presence of bread and brown sugar. Pleasant.
Flavor-Thin and strangely sweetish up front, with a watery pumpkin candy character at the start, before a bit of the spice begins to open on the mid-palate. The finish bears suggestions of clove and nutmeg, but is quite weak compared to the aroma. The aftertaste is actually moderately pleasant with some of the pumpkin flesh notes starting to come forward, but on the whole I'm not very enamored with the flavor here. There's also a strange tartness to the palate as a whole that I find unpleasant.
Mouthfeel-Medium light body, and it feels a bit thin and watery. Moderately high carbonation doesn't help this impression.
Smells promising, but the flavor really doesn't deliver-with strange, tart, pumpkin-candy flavors which fizzle to a lightly sour, lightly spiced pumpkin flavor. Just not that good.

This beer pours a clear ruby color. The head is half an inch in height, and recedes slowly into a small cap of lacing. The aroma is of nutmeg, all spice, cinnamon, and a hint of pumpkin in the background. The taste is a bit mellower than the aroma with more of a malty roundness. There is, however, still a significant pumpkin spice character that is foremost on the palate. The mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium bodied with a watery texture, and aggressive carbonation. Overall, this is a pretty good pumpkin ale. However, the thin body really detracts from my enjoyment of the rest of the beer.

Poured into a 12 oz Pilsner Glass on Thanksgiving; notes taken on 11-25-11.
Appearance - Pours a clean, dark red color with a slightly redish 1 finger head.
Smell - Sweet Pumpkin mixed in with cinnamon and ginger. There's also a very slight malty scent present.
Taste - Pumpkin and cinnamon mixed in with ginger and nutmeg. The flavor is a little on the lighter side compared to other pumpkin ales I've had before, but it's still fairly good.
Mouthfeel - It's got a fairly light body and an overt smoothness to it. Carbonation is also mild, which is typical of these types of ales.
Overall - For what it is, it's a solid pumpkin ale. If there was just more flavor in here, this probably would've been one of the my favorite pumpkin ales. It's got alot of pontential, so maybe next year they can improve on the flavor.

Serving glass: Clear amber-orange with thin off-white head.
Smell: Lots of spice in the aroma, with cloves, ginger and cinnamon most noticeable. Some light caramel and pumpkin.
Taste: Caramel and nutty pumpkin, with a very spicy layer on top. Notes of cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and ginger - the nutmeg and allspice last long into the finish.
Feel: Moderate carbonation, fairly light body, dry finish.
Overall: Great low abv Pumpkin Ale.

No freshness dating but this is the first year it was bottled I believe thus it is fresh???
A= Pours a translucent amber color with a thin sort of coca cola like head on it that rises and falls with relative ease. The head actually holds some decent retention for the way it looks. The lacing is pretty minimal.
S= Smells high on the spice. The pumpkin is a little light compared to the spice. Lots of cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg in it. The underlying malt is a decent caramelly background typical of an amber.
T= The flavor is again very high on spice. The pumpkin comes through a little more than the nose lead on. It has a lot of the spices mentioned above. The problem I see is that it's all spice (pun). There really isn't much backing the spice. It almost tastes like a spiced water if that makes sense.
M= Very light on the body with a little too high carbonation.
O= This is a very very well spiced beer. Nice flavors come through but there isn't much behind the spice. A little more malt and heaft to it would make this a tasty treat. I still like it quite a bit however. One of the better pumpkin beers I think.

Shared with some friends over halloween weekend. Strong aroma of pumpkin spiciness - with flavor to match. Probably the best example of a pumpkin beer other than ST. Mouthfeel was a bit thin. Picked up a couple bottles of this and plan to dig into them on thanksgiving.

Pours from a bomber an lighter amber hue with a fizzy head that disappears quickly. Not much in the way of lacing.
Awesome smell of pumpkin pie spices. Nutmeg and cinnamon really stand out. Very nice smell of warm and spicy pumpkin pumpkin pie overall.
Tastes much like a homemade pumpkin butter. Lots of pumpkin pie spices to go with the pumpkin. Rather skimpy malt presence. Pumpkin and spices are tasty and really stand out, but they do beg for a malty sweetness. Very long spice finish.
The body is too thin and light. Makes it go down easy, but the need for body is there. Quite dry feeling from all of the spices.
I like this beer, but I would really love it if it had a larger malt base. All the components are there for a perfect pumpkin ale, except the malt, which would really help out the body and flavor.
