I travel to the East Bay area about four to five times a year and this place is within easy distance of my office. It's not on the main street in Alameda but it's darn close being off by one side street.

Service is top notch and stop on. Boris is the man that has taken care of me over the past year and keeps me coming back.

Their draft beer selection obviously highlights some top notch German lagers including one amazing Kellerbier. They fold in a couple of west coast style ales that round out the selection.

Food is knock your doors off good. $14-$19 if I remember correctly.

Overall, a great place that you should seek out.

Speisekammer is a nice German restaurant in Alemeda that offers all of the standard fare. In addition, they have a small beer garden in front of the restaurant. I believe that it was once run by the same owners of Suppenkuche in San Francisco but it isn't anymore. Where Suppenkuche has more of a beer hall atmosphere with benches and tight spaces, Speisekammer sticks with the standard dining room set-up. Because of this it doesn't quite have the atmosphere that I feel it should. Great beer selection - their website lists 12 taps and around 12 bottles. One note: the few times I have been there I don't think I have ever seen anyone sitting outside in the beer garden.
