Easy to find, plenty of parking. The market itself was recommended as a great place to get quality meat and veggies and it is. I was surprised to see a large room within the market dedicated to beer and liquor.
A Unibroue rep happened to be there, hawking and offering tastings and a free glass. He did a fair amount of beer advocacy as well, so good on him. He talked a self-professed non-beer drinker into sampling a brew and she was clearly impressed. "Oh, well this isn't beer," she said. I love that. I sampled their Chambly Noire and Blanche De Chambly (little black-and-white action) and got a nice oversized wine glass with a tiny little chip in the bottom (well, why did you think they were free?).
The selection is impressive, with plenty of craft beers to choose from and a decent selection of imports. The staff there didn't seem to know that much about the beer (it is a grocery), but they were pleasant and tried to help as much as they could.
They had a make-your-own six pack set up (two or three tables full of unrefrigerated beer) with so-so choices, and a separate make-your-own summer seasonal sixer, which seems like a very good idea.
I spent over $100 and came away with two boxes of beers I had never tried and a nice beef flank and chicken breasts for the grill.
It's a great one-stop shopping mecca for me. Beer and quality meats. I will probably get to know the staff there very well over the next few weeks.
