The three of us are students at Cal Poly and have stopped by Cork 'N Bottle many times for either beer and/or food.

**They have a burger, fries and soda combo meal that is very affordable and tasty.

Cork 'N Bottle has a very average selection, but it's usually the place to go to get Stone rarities (seasonal brews, anniversary ales). They're also one of the few remaining places that sells Firestone Eleven (as of 01/10/09), and they just dropped the price to $19.99 a bottle. Looking beyond those brews, they carry most of the big name California micros (Sierra Nevada, Mendocino, Anchor, Firestone, Anderson, Stone), and a smattering of widely distributed European beers. I guess they also carry a few Rogue specialties (Old Crustacean, Imperial IPA). Most of the beer is refrigerated as well.

I'm not a big fan of Crazy Eddie (the owner), though he's slowly growing on me. He is a creep, a pervert, and a jackass, but he can be friendly/funny on occasion. I used to hate him, but now I don't mind. As for his uptight, militant, crony who also works the register... ugh. I really don't like that guy. He gives me the stink-eye every time I step up to the counter, and typically makes me show multiple forms of identification even though I'm a regular. I guess the opposite of love is not hate, but apathy... for whatever that's worth.

Cork 'N Bottle also has a sports bar section, and you are allowed to drink on the premises.

All in all, selection is standard with a few specialties and service is typically bad , but memorable.

Living in San Luis Obispo, i have been to a lot of the beer shops around here and Cork 'N Bottle is the best overall store in my opinion. Their kitchen/grill puts out surprisingly good food and they have a seating area with tv's to watch a whole host of sporting events throughout the year. As i get more and more into beer I am finding it slightly difficult to find newer beers there but when if you are just starting they have a great selection of high end seasonal beers from around the area. Also these guys are the only ones i know of in San Luis Obispo that are able to get high end BCBS like '14 Vanilla Rye and '15 Rare. While their humor may not work for everyone, the guys who run the store also seem to really like to interact with the customers and make every time you go in there a good part of your day.

Walked across the street after eating at a great Mexican joint called Chile Peppers, walk into this place and see a deli on the left side that serves burgers and sandwiches, did not expect to see that in here, beer is in about a half dozen fridges in the back, was hoping to find some local bottles especially Island, Central Coast, and SLO Brewing, and struck out with all three, they did have a decent selection considering the area and had some Stone, Sierra Nevada, Rogue, Lagunitas, Mendocino, Ommegang, Anchor, Anderson Valley, New Belgium, and Lost Coast, they have an above average keg selection and a wide range of liquors available, place was not the cleanest and the guys working there did not know much about beer, asked a simple question about a Firestone product and got a shoulder shrug, would not go out of my way to get here again, if nothing else was open in the area, would not be a bad stop

I liked this place. When you walk in it feels like a liquor store/deli because it is. A lot of college students since Cal Poly is closeby. At the back against the wall is the beer. They had several things to offer at a payable price. Among the brews carried were from: Anchor, Marin, Lagunitas, Sierra Nevada, Firestone, SLO, Stone, Bear Republic, Central Coast, Lost Coast..mostly from Cali beers. Large selection of belgians present. They also had a very large selection of skunky beer.A good place to go to grab some really good beer.

This place is more dedicated to serving cheap macro beers, but the craft coolers are getting bigger. There is a decent selection here, great for SLO, but nothing compared to good liquor stores in the bay area or la area. A lot of people are turned off by this place because they are ID scrutinizers, but once you get to know the owners they are nice people. Eddie can be a bit off-putting sometimes but as a regular I get some special treatment. Prices are a bit high, $10 for Hennepin but they always have SN Celebration and Bigfoot year around
