This Giant Eagle is within striking distance of my workplace, so I end up there for lunch and or beer runs during lunch sometimes. The selection is just ok - they have one section of wall devoted to craft, with the usual suspects on it. Their walk-in cooler is almost all BMC or big label imports. Loads of Great Lakes, Sam Adams, etc etc. All in all, this place is definitely lower on the ladder of grocery stores I have been to regarding selection. Location is pretty convenient though, so I am sure I'll end up there again.

Giant Eagle...It is what it is really - It's a grocery store that happens to have beer. This particular one has a walk-in cooler with 4 external coolers, plus a shelf of room temperature beer. Almost 90% of the craft beer that they stock is on the room temperature shelf, totaling about 50+ 6 packs. About the only thing that is in the cooler craft-wise is everything Great Lakes, Sam Adams, or Sierra Nevada. They stock a small selection of bombers, some of which are good mainstream picks (Samuel Smith, Stone, some Ommegang), but not anything that most beer stores do not already have. The main attraction here is buying 12 or 24 packs of your favorite macro brew, or the State Liquor Store that is across from the beer cooler. To be honest, the liquor store or groceries are the only real reason that I shop here. Forget about service, tasting recommendations, or much else.

This Giant Eagle carries the best beer selection that I have seen at any Giant Eagle location. They have a walk in beer cooler. Besides the ususal BMC crap they carry selections from Great Lakes, Sam Adams, Tuborgs, Flying Dog, Rogue, Stella Artios, Bell's. Pete's Brewing Company and Redhook. They have 18.7 ounce bottles of several beers by Samuel Smith. There are definetly others that I can't recall now. All the prices all seemed reasonable. While Giant Eagle is definetly not my first choice when it comes to places I buy beer from, this location is my first choice of Giant Eagles to buy beer from.
