On tap at the Tyson's Corner location in McLean, VA in early May. Reviewed from notes.

A - Poured a deep copper/bronze color with a foamy 3 finger off-white head. The beer is almost translucent after it settles from the pour. Great head retention and nice lacing. Does this beer vary in color? Some reviewers reported a similar color to mine while others say "light golden." Odd.

S - Earthy, some toasted pale malts, lightly hoppy, and a little caramel sweetness. Slight alcohol in the nose.

T - The taste is toasty malts with a moderate presence. Bready with a nice caramel sweetness. A hint of alcohol comes through, more so as the beer warms. Light floral hop bitterness. The finish was a little dry with a light hop bitterness.

M - High-light body to a low-medium body. I expected, and would have liked this to be a little fuller in the mouthfeel. Medium carbonation.

O - Honestly, I really enjoyed this beer. It was probably my favorite of the night out of a few of their offerings. Like another reviewer said, goes great with their garlic fries. I'll have to try this from the bottle and see how it compares. Pretty solid overall with the exception of the light mouthfeel.

On tap, Gordon Biersch, Myrtle Beach

A- pours a hazy golden orange color with a small white head with decent retention

S- light floral hop, sweet bready malt, fruity notes with a bit if yeast

T- moderate floral hop with some fruity, apple-like flavor. The malt is sugary and sweet with a clean-yet-fruity finish

M- medium-heavy body, slightly viscous and sticky mouthfeel with a creamy finish. Alcohol is hidden very well

O- easy drinking spring seasonal, this ine can catch up with you fast as the alcohol is hidden very well. Glad to try, but probably won't buy again.

Very surprising beer for a chain microbrewery!

Copper color with nice head and very flavor fortified beer, balanced strong malt character with sweetness, low hop balance.

Roasted malt and sweet caramel up front, background spices cinnamon, anise, raisons. Very minor hop feel, just enough to know they are there. Warming balanced well with the sweet strong body of this beer.

I really enjoyed this one!

Appearance: Served in a tall glass. Copper with good lacing.

Smell: Malt liquor...not an unpleasant smell actually Caramel sweetness.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Extremely malty, maybe a bit too much like malt liquor. It could definitely use some more balance. Mouthfeel is clean but too flat in the finish.

Overall Drinkability: I was a bit disappointed in this. I feel like they froze a decent lager and then melted it in order to concentrate the alcohol ala an eisbock. This was a slight miss, but I would drink it again.

Poured a half finger of head on a dark amber colored body.
The aroma has a faint grain smell.
The taste is nice and rich with roasted and caramel malt, it finishes with a mild bitterness.
the texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
It's lacking in the appearance and smell but the taste is pretty good.

12 oz brown bottle with pry off cap poured in a miscellaneous large glass at our rental condo inTurtle Bay, North Shore, Oahu. Purchased at the north shore Foodland, in a variety 12 pack.

Red-brown amber and clear. Off-white head is 3/8th inch on the pour but quickly disappears.

Aroma is lots of malt. Woody, caramel, nutty and honey with hints of spicy and herbal hops.

Nutty and woody sweet malt. Almost cloying. Not far off from syrup. Finish has a hint of pecan nuttiness, but it's largely herbal and floral hops.

Medium bodied but oily.

Cloyingly sweet at the start and finishes mildly hopp. Pretty boring and nothing near as good as past examples of the style I've had.

A - dark amber with a half of an inch of off-white, thick, dense, head that has great retention

S - caramel, apples, sweet

T - caramel, apples, faint hops, some sugar

M - medium bodied, well carbonated, smooth

The caramel and baked apple notes dominated this one. There are some faint hops for balance, but overall, it's sweet, fruity, and sticky. I'll pass in the future.
