Tap pour (Milwaukee location).
7.6%, 17 IBUs
A - Incredible hazed through, winter wheat is toppe with a thin of white head. Low retention, small, patchy lace. Deep rustic, dirty golden in color.
S - Heavily spiced nose reminds of a pie with its cinnamon and nutmeg piled on the classic coriander and orange peel. Almost like a spiced orange pie. Wheat and pale malt completes the ensnare with a crust-like finish.
T - A wit on steroids, there's plenty of flavor to go around. Rich spice and malt with soft wheat echos the pie taste the nose offers.
M - Smooth and full bodied, the soft beer has a supple feel and spicy, almost juicy finish. Its a meal.
O - Yeast ester in the finish really give this unique beer some good depth. A nice warming winter beer with a hidden alcohol punch. Substitute for a breakfast mimosa.

Received in a weizen glass-like vessel. Had this at the location at Fountain Square in Cincinnati before the holidays. Review from notes.
3.5 A: Opaque orange brown color. Came with just a touch of white head that left a small amount of lacing.
4.0 S: This certainly is spicy. Lots of cinnamon and nutmeg. Coriander and orange peel to a lesser extent. Pepper in addition from the yeast. Neutral wheat and clean overall.
3.5 T: Like the nose, there's tons of spice in about the same proportions as the nose. Unfortunately, the beer itself can't stand up to the spice. A little overly yeasty. Decent anyway.
3.0 M: Heavier medium body. Carbonation is on the low side for style. Could be creamier, but it's reasonably smooth.
3.5 D: Enjoyable. I like these spices, but maybe not this much.

On tap at Cincinnati RBB.
Hazy orange with almost no head. Appears flat after minutes.
Smells of orange, pronounced licorice, spiced.
Tastes light with black licorice finish. Mild fruit and sweet flavors in the middle. Not a fan of licorice when none is used. Alcohol warmth finish.
Light to medium bodied with little tongue prickling carbonation.
Not as good as I hoped. Expected winter spices but just get licorice. Definitely warms you as you drink it.

Indianapolis location.
On tap in a tulip glass.
A: Nice deep golden color. The head had faded by the time it was brought to the table. I'm guessing about 1 fingers width.
S: Wheat with a hint of bananas. Also some slight spices - nutmeg and cinnamon. Very light hint on the spices.
T: Starts off sweet and then blends into the wheat and the spices. I'm thinking the ABV isn't very high but it did have a nice alchohol warming to it.
M: Sweet but not overly done. Moderate carbonation.
O: Good beer for a Weizenbock. Potentially a bit mild but I definitely would drink this again.

On tap in Bethesda Maryland, beer is yellow, hazy, lazy head, no lacing moderate carbonation, looks fine.
Aroma is pine tree, like a christmas tree and tea leaves.
Beer is medium in body and oddly spiced, it was a little dry, harsh, I finished the pint but it was kind of like drinking pine cone tea. It had this odd spice throughout the beer and I was confused the entire time I was drinking, way too forward.

Poured from the tap into a clear tall tulip glass at Rock Bottom in downtown Minneapolis.
Appearance: Hazy deep golden in color with a one finger foamy white head that faded quickly but left some nice sticky lacing.
Smell: Sweet, yeasty and spicy. The first thing I get is sweet wheat with a slight banana yeast profile, then it's followed by the spices of nutmeg and cinnamon. A slight alcohol whiff at the finish, but nothing overpowering. Nice aromas here.
Taste: Sweet and yeasty, with a little moderate alcohol warming on the first couple of sips. Gives way to a nice wheat and spice flavor. A good interpretation of the Weizenbock style.
Mouth feel: Slick and sweet with moderate carbonation.
Overall: One of the better seasonal beers I've tried at Rock Bottom. A perfect fall or winter beer to go along with a little warming or spicy food. Nicely done Rock Bottom.

Pours an uber hazy golden orange color, thin cap of white froth, little lacing. Bold scent starts with orange peel, black pepper and yeast, splash of sweet honey, strong seasonal spices such as cinnamon, clove and nutmeg, light medicinal and vinous qualities to boot. Very strong flavors from the first sip, heavy spice obliterate any refreshing wheat notes, honeys like sweetness throughout, odd herbal flavors at the end. Medium bodied, bubbly. Strong spice flavors make a full pint hard to put down easily with a meal, maybe best suited as a sipper.

A- Pale golden. There is a slight haziness to it. Head is thin and not well lasting. All in all disappointing looking.
S- Aroma is a bit sweet with an underlying spice and citrus.
T- The flavor is really odd. It starts out like most witbiers with a spicy and lemony flavor. The finish is just a bit odd. There is a Jaegarmaester like quality to it in the finish, along with some warming alcohol. There is also a touch of honey-like flavor throughout.
M- Body and carbonation are both a bit thin.
O- I would try a pint of this, just because it's a bit different. In hindsight, maybe not a growler worthy beer.
