Rock Bottom recently started distributing their beers to Pittsburgh bars. This was a rather interesting take on a relatively boring pale wheat ale, pours a slightly hazed bright golden orange hue with a bright white head. fine speckled lacing left behind. Paired with a tapas rainbow trout topped with garlic garbanzo bean and broccoli pesto. Aromatics were nice, had a touch of citrus peel presence going on with a spicy ginger edge to it, sharp wheat nose breadiness. Flavor worked well the flavors/spices were subtle in a nice clean pale wheat ale, bringing hints of lemon and ginger together to cleanse the palate rather nicely definitely a nice pairing with seafood at Bocktown. Lighter bodied ample carbonation holds up nicely throughout each sip without ever being too cloying or overdone. Drinkability overall was excellent an interesting lower alcohol pale wheat different from the standard poorly executed house wheat beer found at most brewpubs across the country.
