Beer was served in a pint glass.
Poured deep brown, almost black, very little light passed through. Head was about an inch of mocha colored head. Good head retention & wispy lacing throughout. Nose was of strong but not overpowering smokiness - (slight hints of oak and mesquite)and chocolate. Taste was of light, but very present smokeyness upfront along with sweet chocolate. Finished with smokey flavors as well that mixed nicely with the chocolate. This is a medium body beer, slightly dry, little to no aftertaste. I enjoyed a few of these - and had it not been for transproting it on a plane ride home, would most certainly have gotten a growler or two.
