A: Beer was served in a pint glass at the Homestead, PA location. No head. Copper color.
S: Faint Malt Aroma, nothing overpowering.
T: Crisp malt flavor. Notable hop character. I found it to have a bit of a bubble-gummy after taste. Seemed somewhat watered down compared to other Oktoberfests I've had.
M: Carbonation was moderate. Very easy drinking.
O: This is a decent Oktoberfest but i probably wouldn't order it again at RB because I don't feel it is as good as the other beers that they normally have available.

On tap at the brewpub in Minneapolis, MN. Served in a stein glass.
Appearance: Color is a deep and clear amber orange with a moderate amount of carbonation. About two fingers of off white head which fade into a thin layer. Lacing on the glass is moderate.
Smell: Bready and fairly sweet malts up front. Big hints of caramel, toffee, and toasted bread. Some grains and earthy hops with a light hint of pepper spices and butterscotch. Very forward with the toasted caramel. Also a little bit grassy with a hint of alcohol.
Taste: Like the scent previews, a very malt forward taste with lots of caramel. Toasted malts up front with notes of caramel, toffee, biscuit, grass, buttered toast, and some pepper. Moderate earthy hop presence. Fairly sweet up front but has a dryness that lingers in the aftertaste. A pretty solid Marzen taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Very smooth with a pretty drying finish.
Overall: A pretty solid take on the Marzen style. A nice caramel foreword beer.

Pours a clear orangeish color with an eggshell head.
Smells of caramel and buttered bread malts.
Light barley malt flavor with slight caramel sweetness.
Medium body with prickly carbonation over the tongue.
An average, drinkable oktoberfest, pairs pretty well with food. There are better marzens, even locally, though.

A- Pours a medium brown, clear, with a one finger large bubbled head. Some lacing
S- Smell is toasty, with a little earthyness. Pretty mild on the nose.
T- The taste is a little deeper. Initially it's toasty with a little caramel and a little bit of fruityness.
M- Medium light body, medium carbonation.
O- A decent, straightforward Octoberfest beer. Enjoyable and easy drinking but could use a touch more substance to it.

First had: on tap at Rock Bottom, King of Prussia, PA
Pretty good. Standard märzen. Poured a clear burnt sienna with a small white head that dissipated after not too long. Not too much in the aroma, just smooth toasty malts. Caramel malts in the taste, toasted bread, with a touch of floral hops for balance. Pretty nice. Medium mouthfeel, and quite drinkable.

Had at the brewpub on 9/21/10. Reviewed from notes. This beer came out in a large mug. A dark rusty amber with a 2-finger off-white head on top. Minor lacing. Pretty basic nose. Some toasted malts and caramel.
The mouth was moderately full. Decent carbonation. Great flavors though. Smooth caramel, toffee goodness, with a hint of a hop bite on the end. Sweet malty beer here. This was a great beer for the style and season. One of the better ones I've had this fall.

A - Pour a dark, reddish amber. Small head receded to a cap that stuck around the whole time. Left big, manly looking strands of chunkly lacing on the sides.
S - Fairly mild smell. Little bready, with some caramel malts and a slight bit of hops.
T - Tastes a lot like it smells. Nice, sweet malts that taste of caramel but are not overly sweet. Nice little bit of hops at the end. Not mind-blowing, but fairly well balanced.
M - Lighter side of medium bodied, a little watery. Good carbonation.
D - Surprisingly solid offering that is east to get down.

On-tap at the brewpub the last few weeks. Good to see a nice, malty beer up on the chalkboard.
Appearance: Deep amber color from all the malt. Nice white head that produces decent lacing.
Smell: Bready, sweet caramel malt aroma's mostly. Some spiciness and a bit of citrus hop aroma's add some zing.
Taste: Some bready malts with some dry spiciness. Maple flavors come through a little and the citrus from the nose is in there as well which adds a good hop balance.
Mouthfeel: Very dry, but medium bodied and pretty smooth.
Drinkability: Pretty good. I'd have a couple of these if Prussia's Pride wasn't so good. The dryness is a bit of a deterrent though.
Solid Ocktoberfest, appreciated by most.

On tap @ the brewpub on 10/11/09. Served in a mug.
Pours a clear copper, topped with a thin covering of brite-white head. Solid foamy retention, yields some nice looking rich swathes of lace. The aroma leaves a good bit of spicy dryness in the nose. Some heavier bready sweetness rises up underneath, mixing with some citrus to impart a sticky tang in the nose.
Once again, the taste is strong with a peppery bitterness, that REALLY gives this a zippy firmness in the mouth. Sweet bready malt character starts on the outside and then pulls together in the back, helping balance this out some. Make no mistake though, this is VERY drying in the mouth. A bit too much I'm afraid. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a sharp crispness which matches that assertive hop profile. Pretty smooth overall in the mouth.
This was a decent American take on an O-Fest that unfortunately relied a little too much on the Noble hops. This was probably one of thee driest versions of this style that I've every had. While this was distracting, luckily it didn't kill the drinkibility, thanks to a solid easy drinking body and feel. This is definitely worth a look, but I was ready to move onto to something else after it.

Tan amber brew with a white fingerful of head. Served in a pint glass at the spot of the King of Prussia Mall.
Caramel malts on the nose. The same with the flavor, with some muted alcohol and pepper. Mouthfeel was medium with some lingering sweetness.
Worth having a few while watching the Phillies mop up the competition.

A: Golden-amber with a one inch off-white head with moderate lacing.
S: Grainy and boozy at first then the more subtle notes of the malts arrive with caramel standing out.
T: Malts and spicy alcohol dominate this very dry beer.
M: Thinner than expected and very dry.
D: This has a lot of alcohol flavor for a beer that is about 6.2%. It is easy to quaff despite this though.

Poured a clear dark amber/copper color with 1 finger of foamy off-white head, nice retention and ok lacing. Smells of caramel, bread, and grass. Tastes of light lemon, toasted grain, butter, bread, and caramel with an earthy and dry grass finish. Medium in body with moderate carbonation. Sweet but also earthy, a little less smooth than most Oktoberfests, a little more dry and harsh in the finish with less sweet malts in the backbone. Easy to drink and sessionable.

For an Oktoberfest-style beer, this is rather good. The aroma is rather light, but the taste makes up for it. The presence of caramel hops is strong, the body is almost ideal, the dark caramel color with it's ivory foam is very enticing. Another winner from Rock Bottom.

Appearance - Amber color with nice dense head.
Smell - Nose is of grain and malt. Very clean.
Taste - Again very clean and complex with a maple and an almost a spice-pumpkin flavor. Rich but clean particularly in the finish. Malt is present but not dominant. Minerality present as well. Well done. Note: A lot of oktobers are going to be maltier but I believe that the brewer's style is to go lean with most of his beers.
Mouthfeel & Drinkability - Both are high. Weight was enjoyable along with the balanced flavor between richness, cleaness and minerality.
