Cask pulled at Gitchee Gumee Brewfest - Clouded amber color, medium fluffy cinnamon hued cap. Lace sticks in thin broken sheeting.
Aroma is light and roasty with a very heavy and darkly toned woodish hop that adds some unique earthy spice. Very thin slices of citrus peek through.
Taste is of dark roasty malts and big toasted breads, earthy and heavy-handed wood toned hops take over soon after. Mildly bitter with tinges of citrus, slight nuttyness and hop warmth to it. The wood tones are actually very nice; very dark, smokened to an extent, crisp, heavy, and cedary with just a nudge of citrus. Unique roasty/toasty bread malting too that worked well together.
Great smooth and warm body, nearly full, fairly creamy, lots of dark wooded and heavy heated hop oiling out in the finish. Nice smokey, earthen, woody hops in this one. The cask really brought out some nice warmth. Good stuff.

Pours to a hazy orangish-copper color with a tan head that diminishes. It leaves a bit of lacing. The aroma is sweet and malty, fruit bread, with a citrus, grapefruit smell. Awesome smell, reminds me a bit of Batch 6000. The flavor is malty and fruity with grapefruit and breads. Nice hoppy flavor, with a drying bitter finish. Very easy drinking and tasty. Top notch brew.

I asked the very busy bartender what style this beer was in, as it wasn't indicated anywhere else. "Style", he said, confused, "I don't know about style, but it's a hoppy beer."
And so it is.
Hazy, crimson color, nice, thick beige head.
Impressive aroma, loud hoppiness, full and fruity.
Very warm feel in the mouth, full-bodied, rich and ringing with hops throughout.
Still, has this odd yeasty thing going like I find in many of their beers.
Quite a nice offering, I may have to go back for more, when the place isn't so jammed, and the weirdo with the buffalo wings isn't there to spew his paranoid fantasies at me.

On tap at the Minneapolis brewpub...
Clear reddish amber appearance. head of 1/4 of an inch and about 25 seconds in duration. Decent spidery lace, thin and arid looking. Aroma is aggressively hoppy, unexpected and quite prickly. The flavor follows suit, acidic and slightly bitter citrus with little malt biscuit assertion to counter the impression. Pith at the finish, a little souring in quality. Mouthfeel is a little light, and decidedly raggedy. An exercise in hop infusion, could use a little more thought to be a good example of a Red Ale in the traditional sense.
