On-tap at Goose Island Clybourn. Served in a tulip.
A - Transparent bronze body. Off-white foam settles to a thick collar and a few specks of lace.
S - Belgian yeast, bubblegum light pepper, tropical fruit hops, a bit of candi sugar, and some yeasty bread. There's an odd fruit salad kind of vibe going on here.
T - The taste is quite similar; there's a mixture of juicy citrus and tropical fruit bubblegum over top of a bready and peppery yeast backdrop.
M - Zesty and mildly harsh carbonation. Medium body, dry texture, and a bit gritty. No obvious alcohol, but I wasn't expecting any at 6.5%.
D - A decent hoppy Belgian ale, but not really my thing. I'd have it again in a pinch, but there are plenty of other beers I'd prefer at the Clybourn brewpub.

Served in a tulip glass at the Clybourn brewpub.
I slayed the King a while ago, so now I'm gonna have my way with the Queen (it's only fair, right?). This stuff pours a clear sunrise amber topped by a finger of tan-cream foam. The nose comprises grapefruit peel, ruby red grapefruit zest, melon, light caramel in the back, light Belgian yeast, very light leek, and peach. The taste holds notes of peach skin, grapefruit zest, honey, and light pine sap. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Overall, a solid BIPA, nothing overtly amazing, but a certainly enjoyable brew.
