Served in a tulip glass at the Clybourn brewpub.
This year's ReplicAle is described as an Abbey Ale, and seems to resemble a singel to me. It pours a clear canary-straw topped by a finger-and-a-half of light cream-white foam. The nose comprises clove, orange zest, banana peel, black pepper, biscuit, and light wheat. The taste brings in more of the same, with the orange zest leaning more toward the rind and falling out of favor a bit, and with the clove and black pepper really coming on strong. The body is a light medium, with a very light moderate carbonation and a smooth, slightly grainy feel. Overall, a pretty nice singel, a bit on the spicy side for my liking, but it doesn't go completely overboard.
