Served in a snifter at the Clybourn brewpub.
Another stop on the Second Annual Bachelor Party Free-For-All! This one is part of GI's Chef Collaboration Series, brewed with Chef Charlie McKenna of Lillie's Q. It pours a clear russet-garnet topped by a finger or so of darkly off-white foam. The nose comprises pine sap, grapefruit zest, and rich caramel. The taste brings in more of the same, though the pine is sharper and the caramel is richer. The body is a stolid medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a kinda syrupy feel. Overall, a nice, finely-balanced DIPA. 'Nuff said.

Single finger head with excellent lacing on clear amber body. Aroma is excellent and very full with toasted malt, floral and citrus hops, some earthy notes as well. Very grassy and piney. Pretty much has all of the sharp pine notes involved with this one. Malt presence is actually well represnted for the degree of hip piney-ness. Medium body and moderate carbonation. This is a great beer which gets better as you drink it after the initial pine shock.
