Served in a tulip glass at the Clybourn brewpub.
Another stop on the Second Annual Bachelor Party Free-For-All! This one pours a clear auburn topped by a finger of dirty tan foam. The nose comprises light vinegar, tart black cherry, and caramel. The taste brings in more of the same, a virtual mirror image of the smell. That said, everything comes across as fairly meek, especially considering the expectations stemming from the style. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a kinda sticky feel. Overall, a decent brew, but a weak example of a Flanders anything.

On-tap at GI Clybourn. Served in a tulip.
A: Murky brown-red with a small tan head.
S: Mild berry skin, musty vinegar.
T: Slight vinegar and cherry tartness, berry sweetness, floral, big Belgian pale malt/esters underneath. White cake, vanilla, cherry in the finish.
M: Medium-bodied, slight tingly carbonation.
O: Seems like it was made to be a Flanders/saison hybrid. Only mildly sour, with a big BPA-like malt/ester base. Good balance between the two elements. Interesting and refreshing.
