this may be my favorite beer. a group of my friends and i split it for a graduation party. we poured it up and it was motor oil black. the aroma was perfect - a jumble of smells that instead of being jarring all worked together perfectly. the taste didn't disappoint either. the pappy van winkle came through strongly, but not overwhelming everything else. and everything else there was - vanilla, coffee, raisins, and all that is good in the world.
instead of hiding its ABV shockingly well (like CBS) it embraces it - sip this beer, and savor it.
