A - Poured out an opaque, jet black color with a thin tan head of foam. The foam left behind intricate patches of lace down the glass.

S - It smelled of chocolate, oak, bourbon and vanilla. There are notes of rich, dark coffee but it not nearly as strong as I expected from a "coffee stout".

T - The roasty, espresso-like coffee flavor came through stronger than its aroma. Also, it had delicious chocolate and toffee flavors with a strong yet not overpowering bourbon presence.

M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A big beer with a medium body. The alcohol heat is present but not over the top.

D - Goose Island did a really amazing job on this one. The bourbon is not too much, nor is the coffee. It is just a really delicious imperial stout with crazy good flavors.
