2012 Vintage, split three ways, with a big cigar

Appearance: this beer pours a "black as night color" from the bottle with just a little toasted marshmallow colored head. The head goes quick though and just leaves midnight black in the glass. As you swirl it, the beer leaves legs like a perfect pour of bourbon

Smell: can smell this from across the room. It is like being in a coffee shop and having the barista drop in a dram of bourbon into your coffee. I found the smell to truly be perfect, as is clear by my rating of this brew. Lots of depth to the aroma- some hidden vanilla and blackberry notes.

Taste: I should just leave this blank, because I was so blown away by how this tasted that I was truly speechless yesterday when we cracked this. Front is pure espresso, roast/toasty notes are unavoidable- then the transformation takes place. Bourbon, toffee, salty caramel, almond, and marshmallow were all easily identifiable. So damn smooth.

Overall: I am not sure what else I could ask for in a beer- puts a 100$ bottle of bourbon to shame.

S-poured from bomber bottles
A-Very dark, tan head, lacing
S-As it warms it goes from slight bitter coffee to a full, nice, fresh coffee smell
T-Base stout is there and creamy, but fresh coffee taste dominates once it warms up. Very good. Not bitter, not sweet, just all the qualities of a fresh cup of quality coffee. Very good and may be the best coffee I've had in terms of balance.
M-not as creamy as some other Goosse stout variations, but no complaints. Just about zero carbonation in mine.
O-Excellent coffee stout, top notch, seek it out!
