22oz bottle split three ways. Big thanks to BA morningthief for splitting this beer with me and his wife.
Appearance: Very careful pour yields a small tan ring of almost-head. Pours black with red highlights. No lacing, but nice color.
Smell: Coffee, wood, toffee, all rich and strong, and not boozy at all. The coffee is like freshly ground, high quality coffee beans, and the toffee-like malt flavors are well developed, and seamlessly integrated with the barrel notes. Excellent.
Taste: Tastes like it smells, with a long, creamy toffee candybar finish. Strong, high qualify dark roast coffee up front, balanced by sweet caramel and oak. Despite the strong, decadent flavors, the coffee bitterness, high carbonation, and overall excellent balance keeps the flavor from even approaching "cloying" or "too rich".
The coffee, while delicious, seems to drown out a lot of Bourbon County's complexity. This wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, but I don't think the end result is well-edited perfection, but just "some of the amazing elements of BCBS, plus a really good coffee flavor." It's a minor criticism for a delicious beer.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied, high side of moderate carbonation. Not creamy. Hot and boozy. Decently attenuated.
This is the weakest aspect of the beer, but it's still very well done; the high carbonation and alcohol heat welcomely cut the toffee / cookie / caramel flavors.
Overall: It's not the perfect beer, nor even the best Bourbon County variant, but it's greatness is still undeniable. Plus some points (if there's room for more points) for giving a really beautifully integrated and delicious-in-its-own-right coffee addition.
You probably know what you're getting into if you managed to secure one of these beers to begin with, and it's unlikely that you'll be disappointed.

From Craft Ale House - PA
S-poured from bomber bottles
A-Very dark, tan head, lacing
S-As it warms it goes from slight bitter coffee to a full, nice, fresh coffee smell
T-Base stout is there and creamy, but fresh coffee taste dominates once it warms up. Very good. Not bitter, not sweet, just all the qualities of a fresh cup of quality coffee. Very good and may be the best coffee I've had in terms of balance.
M-not as creamy as some other Goosse stout variations, but no complaints. Just about zero carbonation in mine.
O-Excellent coffee stout, top notch, seek it out!
