I had this on tap from the Holy Grale in Louisville, KY. This was an aged 2010 version enjoyed on Jan. 31, 2013. Pour into a snifter.
A - It was dark in the room but looks to be a copper or a med/dark red Pencil head. Lingers for a few minutes.
S - Flowery, hibiscus really comes through, also nice scent of berry. really nice and light.
T - light strawberry and hibiscus. A bit sour. Makes me think of summer and sitting in a warm breeze on a porch.
M - Enjoy the sour. viscosity is med/high.
O - Real nice summer brew. Real mellow. None of the fruit is empowering. I would purchase this again - if it wasn't retired.

This beer pours a beautiful rose color with light frothy head.
Aroma is very floral with a hint of strawberries.
Taste is almost opposite of smell. Sweet berries up front with floral undertones. The beer finishes with quite a tart punch that lingers. Light bodied.

Served on-tap at The Birdsall House in NY.
Appearance is light amber tone with a pink hue, small white head.
It has a smell of flowers, lemon zest, spices and a bit of sugar. Taste has belgian yeast on a light scale, lemongrass, honey, pepper and citrus. MF is medium with bitterness in the finish.

Appearance: Pretty rose-amber color. Foam, lacing, and carbonation are all good.
Smell: Fairly floral and sweet. Herbal and raspberry-like. Good balance.
Taste/Mouthfeel: Tastes like it smells. I get a decent amount of kombucha in the background. Definitely some caramel sweetness also. This really has the acidity and fermentation of kombucha tea, giving it a great, crisp mouthfeel. Yeast and kombucha definitely go great together.
Drinkability: Very refreshing, summery, and versatile.
Overall: Wish there was more fruit to balance this out, but I did enjoy this immensely.

A: pours a pinkish orange into an American shaker with a little light khaki head with no retention and no lacing.
S: flowery, honey, grapefruit, light fruits, bananas, apricots peaches
T: flowers and sweet light fruits. Pineapple banana peach apricots honey clove. They all mingle over the tongue in no particular order than what I notice first.
MF: heavy, sweet(almost too sweet) little effervescence and a bit of warmth.
O: all put together a surprisingly good beer, it surprised me with its nose color and taste... In a good way.

Served on-tap in a Goose Island wine-like glass.
a: golden, orange body with a 2/3 inch fluffy white head
s: light hop fruit on the nose intermingled with fruity Brett esters.
t: Mild herbal notes with Brett sweetness midway through. Very balanced malt and hop profiles with sweet Brett finishing on the swallow. Slightly dry
m: This is a light and crisp beverage that delivers on taste and mouthfeel. The slight dryness at the end is just great.
o: This was my first time trying this beer and I was not disappointed. I would like to try this one with a little age on it to see how the Brett complexities develop.

Had on tap...and I might add this could have been an old keg.
A- Poured a light hazed orangeish amber body. Gave to me with no head and also no lacing on the sides when drinking this beer.
S- This beer smelled like it was old. There really wasn't any brett smell. It was more along the lines of stale wet grain, older darker fruits, and hints of a metallic undertone throughout.
T- Darker fruits come in front of the beer but it tastes stale. Some light metallic undertones in the ending front of the beer. Middle of the flavor is some light brett character and hints of dirty fruit. Ending of the beer shows more stale darker fruit with hints of brett and a long metallic undertone with a warming alcohol to it.
M- Medium heavy mouthfeel. Carbonation is really light for the style. Darker fruit and hint of metal left on the palate. Aftertaste is light brett, lots of darker fruit, hints of metal, and light alcohol. Flavors were all off balance in the style...I think this has to be due to an older keg. Metallic off flavors in this beer were strong and offputting. Medium alcohol drying on the palate.
O- This beer was not at all what I expected. And to be honest at 7 dollars a fill I wasn't going to find out again if I was right on it being a old keg. Could have been a ok beer but well...

On tap at Goose Island Clybourn, Chicago.
Of all the drinks I had at Goose Island tonight this was my favorite. The color was a dark yellow, with almost reddish hues. White head. Smell was fruity and somewhat yeasty, almost cidery. Taste was that of cider and fruit as well. Very pleasant beer.
Overall this is a very sweet tasting beer. Almost zero bitterness on the finish. I was very impressed with this beer and I'd try this again.

From 5/26/11 notes. Had on tap at the Big Hunt in Washington, DC. Served in a tulip.
a - Pours a murky dark amber color with one inch of off white head and moderate carbonation evident.
s - Smells of apples, spices, bready malts, cinnamon, floral notes, and fruity malts. Lots of apples up front and a bit sweet, but I like it.
t - Tastes of apples, bready malts, spices, and fruity malts. Apples up front again, and a tiny bit too sweet for me, but still good.
m - Medium body and low to moderate carbonation. Very smooth and creamy; very easy to drink.
o - Overall a very nice Belgian style beer. It's heavy on the apples and I'd like it better if the taste wasn't quite as sweet, but it's very refreshing and easy to drink. I'd certainly order it again in the summertime.

On tap at Max's today.
The beer pours a light copper amber color with pretty good head retention and fairly good lacing. The nose is definitely BPA all the way, with dry citrus, clove and considerable underlying spice. The flavor profile generally replicates the nose in this modestly sweet beer, except I also get something of a beef buillon flavor as well. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, with a moderately long, spice infused, fairly dry finish. Drinkabilty is pretty good, as the alcohol is almost completely unnoticeable.
Nothing extraordinairy here, but a nice enough beer I guess.

Poured on tap into a snifter at ChurchKey DC.
Given with no head, an orange/amber body. THere was a head at one point but seriously died. No lacing not even a collar on this thing.
Smell is initially wet. Faint bret sense and sort of a fresh seafood ocean "fishy" quality. Really strange but alright.
Mild bretty sense at first and a hint of some spice. Still that watery sense carries over into feel as well. Slight nutmeg and almost cigar box finish but with heat and pricklyness that is obvious.
Overall, weak, wet and kind of boring, I'll pass on this one from Goose Island.

Bottle to Chalice
App- A hazy sunset orange with a one finger head that had some yellow highlights.
Smell- A citrusy blend with the floral scents that are described on the bottle. Very floral on this one.
Taste- This is a very flowery beer. Has a lot of things going on but is very pleasant. Its not as most are detailing with the sour/tart. I got a little tang but not much.
Mouth- It's light, but a crisp feel for a big Belgian beer.
Drink- Very taste and very new to me. I liked it. Should have bought more than 1.

Reviewed from notes.
Color is a moderate copper color with a reddish hue. White head with a bit of lacing, though it dies down pretty quickly. Nose is some flowers, hibiscus, light citrus, and some Belgian yeast. Nice and well-integrated. The taste isn't quite as nice and the flavors, while diverse, don't really blend together all the well.
Mouthfeel is crisp on a fairly-light body. This drinks well enough, though I think I'll stick with Demolition.

(From notes)
A - Pours with a half-finger of white, frothy head; OK retention; whisps of lacing; ruby red orange color that's clearer
S - Belgiany-yeastiness; very floral; light citrus; some darker sweet fruits slide in as well
T - A bit tart, but lightly so; yeasty; back to some tart plum and citrus/lemon flavors
M - Almost medium; nice level of carbonation; a little fluffly
D - Nice drinking; and deceivingly quaffable
Tasty and interesting brew, fun stuff.

Sorry for the short comments, I was running out of room in my notebook.
A: The beer is nicely clear/clean. There's a small head, but good lacing and good active carbonation.
S: It's sweet, but also has the Belgian Sourness to it.
T: Light flavor, just sort of the generic Belgian to me
M: Very creamy, surprising based on the rest of it.
D: Good beer for a Belgian, tastes pretty sessionable considering the ABV.

On tap at Hopcat in Grand Rapids.
Golden pale color... smell is pure bubblegum. Taste is lightly hoppy, more bubblegum and medium sweetness. Mouthfeel medium to light. Very drinkable, not overwhelming by any stretch for a medium-to-high ABV.
A pretty solid beer.

Has this on tap at the Wrigleyville location.
A: Served in a small snifter. Served with just a slight surface coating of off-white head. Radiantly orange in color with a slight haze.
S: Surprisingly muted. Some sweet and sour action going on, with notes of sour "Belgian-style" yeasts, sweet fruit, and some faint citrus.
T: Sweet malts and bubblegum. Long, almost spicy finish. Very complex. Very interesting.
M: Medium in weight with low carbonation. Silky and voluptuous at the same time.
D: A quite interesting and complex beer. Obviously meant for sipping slowly and appreciating the world of interesting flavors. Very good, but considering how flavorful this one is, I am unsure why the aroma was so muted.

I had this on tap at the Clybourn location. The beer was orange-amber wtih a white head. The aroma was of yeast and floral and perhaps somewhat citrusy note. The taste was yeasty and had a surprising sweet and sour quality. I never knew what a hibiscus might taste like, and this gave me a great chance. It definitely has the hibiscus taste! It's a great experience!

On Tap at the North End Market in Hudson.
Bright amber color. Thin but long lived head made of medium-sized, tightly packed but evervescent bubbles. Almost no lacing whatsoever.
The nose instantly told me this beer was going to offer a slight twist on the BPA. The expected Belgian yeast, floral aromas, a definite sweetness mingled were cut by tart cherries.
The taste struck a perfect balance between sweet and sour. Floral notes were maybe just a tad out of whack tending towards perfume but only ever so slightly. The purfume quality probably affected by drinkability score more than the taste score. As a single sipper, all the powerful tastes are interesting but it wears the mouth out. Still a great quencher with the low level sour tastes. If you know someone you might want to ease into sours this one introduces the taste in a non-sour brew.

Poured and amber color with creamy head that dwindled to sticky lace.
Floral element on the nose with a slight minerality. Very subtle nose.
The palate had nice hibiscus nuance with sweet malts on the backend. This wasn't a beer that screamed perfume - it was light and nicely balanced. The abv wasn't noticeable which made this brew very easy to drink.
It was a pleasurable quaff for a long evening...

cell phone notes
appearance: served in a snifter, clear bright amber body with obvious pink hues
smell: light tartness from the yeast, mild floral notes, light sweetness
taste: subtle in its delivery - wild yeast adds a nice tartness edge, very floral - like munching on edible flowers
mouthfeel: light and a good mix of sweet/sour
drinkability: good

On tap at Hopleaf.
A lightly hazy, coppery pour. Head was minimal. The nose did give off some floral notes, but I failed to see any serious notes from the belgian yeasts.
The taste is subdued. It drinks like a belgian wheat or something along that lines, as the flavor is so tame, and the body does not come rushing out to save it.
While I have enjoyed hibiscus in several other brews, this one just failed to make me turn the corner. An interesting brew, but not one i'll be in a hurry to revisit. Just a bit mild and tame for what it could be.

Enjoyed on tap at The Hunt Club. An interesting one, sourness derived from the herbs and wild yeast. Medium mouthfeel. Light brown, with some lace. Cloves, sourness, the whole thing didn't work today, it has many ideas, some of which I do not like here.

On tap at the Clybourn brewpub in Chicago. Pours a rich ruby red with fiery amber thrown in, along with a single finger of light orange head that leaves light lacings. Great retention.
Aroma is floral in the nose with distant herbal notes and a touch of sweet, citrusy hops. Not much else for the nose except for a touch of grassy hops and a distant note of apple. Very pleasant and refreshing in the nose.
Taste is of light malts with a fruity base, citrus and mild tropical tones. Floral character is throughout with a touch of strawberry as well. Finishes on a floral note with a touch of sourness and fruit tones after the fact. Very well put together.
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with a semi dry texture and a mildly tart feel from the fruity character.
Drinkability is great. Very refreshing without ending up too sweet on the palate. Cheers!
