This is the third bottle of this I opening... 1st bottle gushed everywhere (about 2 months ago) and the 2nd was
at Dark Lord Day (no problems with gushing).
No problems with this bottle. August '09 batch.

Poured into duvel tulip.

Bright beautiful light reddish pink with some floaties... Huge fluffy pink head leaves little spots of lacing as it settles.looks like plenty of carbonation swirling around in here-- very steady stream of bubbles rising from the nucleation point.

Smells tart and sour. Grapefruit and lemon and sour cherries... Some dark berries-- raspberries and blackberries... The berries factor into the taste more than smell. The sweet tart taste really is quite delicious and refreshing-- and the sourness kicks this beer into world-class category. The body is so light and easy drinking that for a second it almost reminds me of blackberry clearly Canadian sparkling water from 20 years ago.

Overall-- I have had lots of sours, including many from Russian River-- I would put this beer up against any of them! It's good to see that Goose cam represent the Wilds so well and that Cali isn't the only place find a beer like this...

2012 bottle. No need to keep this one in the cellar any longer.

Pours a beautiful golden amber, well carbonated.

S :Funky lactic acid. Not overwhelming, but not much else than funky lactic acid. I know sours are often about funk, and acid, but give me something else here. Maybe some lemon/grass if I force myself to find it.

T: Pretty one note. Lactic sourness, not enamel peeling ,but it's by far the dominant flavor. Some lemon juice (damnit, that's lactic acid). I don't know what else to tell you.

M: light, dry. sour. Above average for the style.

O: Not that interesting. Minimal depth or complexity. Nothing to seek out.

Received in trade from ajzy, thanks for the opportunity!
Pours a lightly hazy deep golden color with a huge fluffy bone white head that that dissipates as quickly as the bubbles in a glass of ginger ale. Tart and funky fruit dominate the aroma here. Lemons, cherries, and berries with lots of lactic sourness and funk make up most of the nose with hints of brown sugar deep in the background. The flavor puckers your face up front with lemons and tart cherries. Light brown sugar malt sneaks in before the citric return and burns a hole deep into your nether region. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick tart puckering mouthfeel. Nice American wild, I'm glad I got to try it.
