Pint on tap at Crescent Moon in Omaha, NE.
Served in a Goose Island martini-like glass.
Arrives with a generous 3cm head of off-white bubbles, gradually fading to a fine ring around the glass. Leaves a few streaks of lacing; decent. Body is a dark copper-like color, somewhat opaque, with a bit of noticeable carbonation.
Scent is somewhat floral, fruity, and a bit spicy. A hint of some sort of funk and malt backbone.
Opens with some nice fruit flavor, so complex sweetness. This becomes overpowered in mid-taste, picking up wild yeast or bacteria character of a generous intensity. I described this as tasting like the scents of "wet dog" or "burning metal," my drinking friend for the evening said "socks." Fairly unpleasant, as this is the first time I've had this, unsure if this is intended or not. The infected flavor lasts for the duration or the tasting, but fades out in the close to some nice light fruit flavors, particularly pineapple. Still, really turned off by the dominant "wild" flavor.
Medium bodied with a satisfying medium-low level of carbonation, leading to a crisp mouthfeel. Well suited to the style and enjoyable.
I don't think the barrel being served was unintentionally infected, as the description of this beer mentioned its "wild" character. I enjoy lambics and gueuzes immensely, and am not unknown to US "wild" ales, but whatever yeast or bacteria they used with this batch really didn't work for me. I'll try a bottle at some point, but otherwise a definite avoid in the future.

Beautiful rich copper color. Pretty clear. Good size bubbly slightly off white head with pretty good retention. Leaves some white lace on the glass as it goes down. good looking brew. Some orange citrusy aromas, also some spice there. Getting a little bit of banana also. Smooth and drinkable. Velvety medium mouthfeel and body. Pretty crisp finish. Lingering spice. Like this beer a lot, really good balance. Extremely smooth. I would make this a regular in the rotation for sure. Want to pick up antoher bottle of this to cellar.
