Served fresh on tap in a snifter ($10) at the Clybourn brewpub.

Near black color with a ring of mocha head with fine texture. Good lacing with each sip.

Smells of bourbon, almost as if it was a blend of bourbon and something to cut it. A bit of oak. Milky sweet malts. Coconuts.

Tastes of creamy bourbon with almond paste. Sweet but not cloying. Minty hops. Tarry. Alcohol is pretty well masked for the ABV (note: bulletin board says 11% alcohol by volume, the website says 11%, the menu said 13.5% alcohol by volume, but I didn't ask which was the correct ABV).

Light carbonation, tickly. Sticky finish, medium body. Pretty easy going for the style.

Would drink this again, falters as it warms but definitely very approachable, so bourbon-y and delicious... and I don't even like bourbon that much. Recommended.

Served from bottle into Teku glass.

A - very dark, with a small amount of tan head that lingers arouns the glass

S - Mostly bourbon in the nose with a little bit of dark roasted malts and a little sweetness as well.

T - Lots of bourbon up front backed by good roasty flavors, coffee, chocolatte etc. Decent amount of alcohol burn, but with all the bourbon flavor this doesn't really seem like a bad thing.

M - thick and smooth mouthfeel, with a good amount of carbonation

O - Fantastic beer, really enjoyed this one, and at 15% enjoyed it slowly.
