Did a blind tasting vertical (07-11) recently. Thanks to exitmusic00 for hosting and the bottles! Review is based off my favorite vintage, which was the 09. From notes.

A- Pours a deep black with a think light brown head which leaves a few lines of lacing.

S- Lots of dark fruit with plum and red cherry, roasted malt, coconut, dark chocolate, hint of vanilla and earthy bourbon on in the back. This smells like it's a few years old as the bourbon isn't as prominent as it would be fresh.

T- Chocolate brownie batter, plumb, cherry, roasted malt, coconut, oak, vanilla and earthy bourbon with a touch of heat.

M- Low carbonation with a syrupy body. Very little heat.

O- Fantastic vintage, with the bourbon well integrated into the other flavors. Lots of dark fruit, chocolate and coconut makes me think this is a couple years old, but there is still a touch of heat. Guessing an 09?

I was able to correctly guess the 3 out of the 5 vintages (Thought the 07 and 08 were the other) Here is my preference of the vintages:

1) 09
2) 07 (Drank more like a port with plenty of dark fruit and caramel sweetness, no heat at all)
3) 10 (Still a lot of bourbon with chocolate and dark fruit, but not overly hot)
4) 11 (Not nearly as hot and boozy as fresh, but could still use some time)
5) 08 (Seemed slightly oxidized and the bourbon was barely noticeable with the flavors being somewhat muddled)

Served from bottle into Teku glass.

A - very dark, with a small amount of tan head that lingers arouns the glass

S - Mostly bourbon in the nose with a little bit of dark roasted malts and a little sweetness as well.

T - Lots of bourbon up front backed by good roasty flavors, coffee, chocolatte etc. Decent amount of alcohol burn, but with all the bourbon flavor this doesn't really seem like a bad thing.

M - thick and smooth mouthfeel, with a good amount of carbonation

O - Fantastic beer, really enjoyed this one, and at 15% enjoyed it slowly.

What's that thing called? Cloud 9? Well this bad boi just put Raul on cloud 11. I mean, Raul is feeling this thing like the "massage" that he just got down at the local parlor. Blacker than sin and as dangerous as a 2x4 with a nail in it, Raul was more into this thang than that one time your mama got bubble gum stick in her hair.

Sleek, sexy, and luxurious. This lil sucker is nothing but luxurious.
