Bourbon County Brand Stout pours flat black into the glass with a tiny light tan head on top. The foam disappears quickly leaving behind no lace on the glass.
The aroma is rich with strong notes of oak, vanilla, chocolate, coffee and dark fruits.
Each sip of this full bodied beer is syrupy and chewy with mild carbonation. The flavor is rich and loaded with oak, vanilla, chocolate, toffee and roasted malt. At the end bitter piney hops make an attempt to balance out all the sweet malt. The alcohol is hot at the end. Once gone the oak, vanilla and dark fruit lingers on the palate.
Wow! What a full flavored, tasty beer. Definitely a sipper. A great beer to cellar to let the alcohol mellow out a little.
