2012 bottle poured into DFH Signature glass. Bottled 9/26/12. Thanks, Matthew.

A - Pours a really dark, nearly black, brown. The khaki head never gets above a half finger, and quickly retreats to a thin film and a halo. There is very little lacing; it may be better classified as legs.

S - Smells more like bourbon than beer at first whiff. Big oak, vanilla, charcoal, alcohol, and cork. As my nose acclimates to the powerful aroma, I get some subtle cocoa and licorice notes. I seemingly get a new aroma with each smell; wildly complex.

T - Surprisingly sweet to start. Cherry, fig, vanilla, and dark chocolate. Bourbon qualities hit on the back of the tongue. Burnt oak, sherry, and white chocolate on the finish. The high alcohol and barrel qualities are prominent and warming, but never overpowering.

M - Thick and smooth as hell. Perfection for the style.

O - This one lived up to the hype for me. One of the most complex, full aroma and taste profiles I have ever come across in a beer. The barrel is noticeable immediately with huge toasted oak and tobacco aromas that seem to fill the whole room. The flavors are everchanging with the temperature. The mouthfeel is unreal. If you like bourbon-forward sipping beers, this is the best in its class.

Served from bottle into Teku glass.

A - very dark, with a small amount of tan head that lingers arouns the glass

S - Mostly bourbon in the nose with a little bit of dark roasted malts and a little sweetness as well.

T - Lots of bourbon up front backed by good roasty flavors, coffee, chocolatte etc. Decent amount of alcohol burn, but with all the bourbon flavor this doesn't really seem like a bad thing.

M - thick and smooth mouthfeel, with a good amount of carbonation

O - Fantastic beer, really enjoyed this one, and at 15% enjoyed it slowly.

What's that thing called? Cloud 9? Well this bad boi just put Raul on cloud 11. I mean, Raul is feeling this thing like the "massage" that he just got down at the local parlor. Blacker than sin and as dangerous as a 2x4 with a nail in it, Raul was more into this thang than that one time your mama got bubble gum stick in her hair.

Sleek, sexy, and luxurious. This lil sucker is nothing but luxurious.
